It is my natural inclination to ruthlessly mock actors and actresses who also “make music” (Minnie Driver? Billy Bob Thorton? Instant hilarity!) but for some reason I can’t do it with Juliette Lewis. It might have something to do with the fact that some of her songs with her rock band, the Licks, are kind of good. Witness the video below. While there is no doubt the video itself is completely ridiculous, it also shows that she has a good raspy kinda-rock voice. She also seems really weird. Hooray!
She’ll be at the Paragon August 16th. Doors are at 8pm. Tickets are $25 bucks in advance, $30 at the door and you can get them at www.sonicconcerts.com starting this Friday. And I’ll give ten dollars to the first person who yells out “Mallory Knox!” and doesn’t get clocked in the face.
