My friend gets a free kitty and all kitty’s stuff from an ad on Kijiji. Cat dies three weeks later. Am I too cynical because I believe the original owner just pawned this poor sick cat on my friend? If so, a hairy pox on your titty sacks, you cruel slag. —A Question Nobody Asked

there are more cats than loving homes, get another cat, this time don’t spend any money.
people getting animals and then casting them away just bugs the fuck out of me. if you cannot maintain and keep an animal, don’t get the fucking thing in the first place.
animals need a lot of care, just like fucking kids. so what you gonna do when and if you finally get a child, cast it away like a piece of trash too.
sometimes, i just would love to have their throats in my hot little hands, just to squeeze the fucking life out of them. maybe we should put some fucking humans up for grabs on there, the adults that is. and then we DO have the throwaway kids too, but not on kijiji.
fucking humans make me want to go and find a big fucking doomsday button to push. come on ma nature, time to wipe most of these human vermin off the planet. you can do it, just have another big fucking flood. or how about a nice ginormous volcano eruption. or anything, just to clean up this fucking planet and the mindless fucking scum, that infest it.
this time have him/her spend the money and adopt a cat from shelter/rescue. kitty will be vetted and flea-less and you will be pre-paying the spay/neuter. people who post ki-wee-wee ads offering free kitties do so because they didn’t get their own cat fixed, and they will continue to offer free kitties each time their cats gets pregnant, and so on and so on. that being their attitude, it’s unlikely their kitty and it’s progeny are healthy to begin with. also, if they offer free kitties, it means they don’t give a rat’s ass who takes the kitty. ‘to loving homes only’ my aunt banana. they just want to get rid of it. you want a little fluff ball to feed your snake? they won’t ask questions – just take the damn kitten off their hands. ditto sadists and impulse grabbers. if the cat was an adult, it’s still unlikely they were aware he was ill or dying. they were just dumping a creature that had become inconvenient. and again, because they cared so little, kitty probably had minimal health care and lousy food. i believe there is one lady on that site that does her best to rescue dumped cats, usually pregnant, and then raises the kittens til weanable, and then offers them for free. she has a kind heart, but no money, and the wee mites are usually sickly. shelter/rescue will put your friend through the wringer, with questionnaires and visits and references. it’s not elitist. it’s to make sure you can care for an animal, that you have a sense of responsibility and that you are willing to go through it. OP, you sound mad enough to have cared about the cat. don’t keep enabling the morons who post these ads. if they cared to begin with, and their cat got pregnant before they really meant to spay her, they would be charging for the kittens to make sure the adopters were serious and committed, or they would surrender the kittens to a rescue, with a very generous donation, because the rescue has more resources to ‘vet the potential new family. a cat or dog should be with you til the end of their life. it makes them crazy to be passed from home to home. it takes the life right out of them.

a girl at work just gave another of my coworkers a new kitten that she had taken in, it had been dumped, along with the mother, and another kitten. The problem is, this guy can’t even feed himself. Poor kitty. I am pretty furious over this. WHY do people do this????
People do this because humanity, as a whole, is destined for failure.
People, not necessarily the entire populace but that need not be the case, who are only out for themselves ruin life for the rest.
Sadly, as the population grows.. more and more of this scum is brought about.
the WHY? is always there.
your co-worker, is he going to try to take care of the kitten? is he the kind of guy who will go without to make sure his charge is warm and fed? can he save up for her spaying or would he be willing to sell something to get the money? you can be dirt poor and still be the best home. homeless people who feed their dogs before themselves are good example.

i used to volunteer at a northern shelter. i draw a very rigid line across humankind. those that have a thought for animals and those that don’t. there’s great variety in the ‘fors’ and i know there’s arguing amongst that side, but the ones on the ‘don’t’ side are all the same to me. if someone can say ‘it’s JUST an animal’ that’s all i need to hear. it’s my rule for judging people.
Kontee, who are YOU to determine if your male collegue is capable of caring for a pet? A good pet owner always finds a way to be just that, regardless of how much money they make. When I was a broke student, living off student loans and watching every penny I spent, the one area I didn’t scrimp on was my dog’s health and wellbeing. So I paid for the premium brand pet food every month, along with everything else that was required to keep him healthy and happy. He had a healthy diet, lots of love, lots of exercise, lots of travel….a great life from beginning to end.
As far as cats go, I would rather take in a stray pigeon, lizard or rat.
I love all animals but cats would be somewhere at the bottom of my list.
Well, Lucifer, I am someone who has known this person for 5 years. He NEVER has money, always on the bum. I have helped him many times. He still calls me for “help” when he has no money. If he can’t afford to eat lunch @ work, how can he ever think about taking care of an animal? I know him well enough to know that he will not get this kitty vet care, for sure, and the cat will be alone most of the time. (drinking prob) I Hope, Lucyfer, that he changes. But, knowing him, it’s doubtful.
