To the party of 6, or was it 600, who ate lunch at Talay Thai a few weeks ago- lower your frickin’ voices!

My husband and I rarely get out together for lunch and on the day you were there, at this fabulous restaurant, you all laughed way louder than necessary, shared details about your work and home life at an octave fit for an opera and that I certainly didn’t need to know. So self-centred you didn’t notice the evil stares cast your way by other patrons. I would have told you to shut the f-up but since I was finished my meal decided to simply leave as oppose to linger. Why did you feel the need to raise the decibel level up to that of a rock concert? Thanks for ruining my lunch, especially the kinda-blond woman with the glasses.—If I wore hearing aids, I’d have turned them off

  1. did you or anyone else by chance, get a waiter to summon management to complain, and get noise leval dropped. no, well then, you deserve what you got. if people are so fucking spineless to open their fucking mouth, once in awhile, maybe this shit wouldn’t happen. til then, stick your tail betwixt thy legs, and suck your nuts.

  2. Well, she mentioned both Rock AND Opera, so maybe she was referring specifically to “Tommy” by The Who.

Seriously, some people have horrible shrill piercing voices or voices that just “carry” for some reason.

Since they seem to lack basic self-awareness about this issue, the clearly need to be told, as often as necessary, that they are not the centre of the universe and that they need to KEEP IT DOWN.

No need to feel embarrassed when reminding idiots to stop acting like idiots.

  3. Not sure why they ‘deserved what they got’ just because they didn’t speak up? Aren’t we supposed to expect adult behaviour in adult establishments?

  4. OP; you were finished your meal so how did these fuckwads ruin your lunch? For sure they spoiled an outing for those who remained but you were done eating and ready to leave. I have no problem speaking to people when they act inappropriately perhaps more people should do the same.

  5. Yep Koda – it takes sometimes just someone to speak up politely at first .

A well placed ” shut the fuck up ” works best after the politeness . If that don’t work – just start talking louder then them about the yeast infected crackwhore you ate out and banged last night . All for twenty bucks !!! You get the picture…..
