I won’t post the bus number or the route number in case it’s considered identifying information, but to my bus driver from this morning: Maybe you’re just having a bad day, but surely you must encounter inconsiderate, aggressive, ignorant or otherwise less-than-perfect drivers on a daily basis, so it might be time to brush up a bit on your coping skills. You laid on your horn at least four times during the relatively short period that I was on the bus, and finally entered into a shouting match with another driver during which you (loudly) dropped the F-bomb and called him an asshole. Grow up, show a little respect for your employer and customers and start acting like a pro—people notice, and Metro Transit certainly doesn’t need your particular brand of PR. —Is there really any point in reporting this to MT?

  1. mod-3.0 not even tagging the metro bitches….
    slack…

this wouldn’t be PDG would it?

  2. I would call in a complaint..if passenger’s curse, they get kicked off the bus, it clearly states this on a sign at the front of the bus.

  3. Good for him. I know from experience that it feels damn good to tell off some stupid asshole who can’t drive worth shit once and a while. People like that have no business on the road anyway, and should be taking the bus instead of cutting one off. Albeit he should be tactful in what he says if there are kids on the bus.

  4. Yet, the OP is “normal” enough to come onto this forum and complain about something that doesn’t involve them.

You did get from point A to point B unscathed, right?

  5. PDG. Where are you? It seems like a high stressed job. Even I will verbally vent when stupid drivers do something…well stupid. That’s when my Spidy-Sense kicks in.
And don’t get me going on taxi drivers. Traffic laws somehow don’t apply to them.

  6. Me, angry!? Nah, I usually just honk, no expletives. After last year’s media attention over the van, I’m amazed drivers would yell out the window, not that I haven’t been guilty of that.

  7. Sounds like my kind of bus driver! Gets me where I’m going ahead of time and doesn’t take shit from anyone.

  8. You should report it. Don’t know if anything is done, but one would assume that if there are numerous complaints against the same driver, then some action would be taken.

I complained about a driver a few months ago. First time I ever did that. Normally I wouldn’t because I know they do have stressful jobs and anyone can have a bad day, but the guy driving this day was way out there. Not only was he swearing profusely to basically, no one, he also was getting pissed about having to stop to pick up passengers. I’m thinking, if you’re a bus driver and picking up and letting off passengers is too much of an effort, then you should get a new line of work.

I got a nice email from transit apologizing for what I witnessed and they said they’d investigate, but that was the end of it. I doubt that informing the public about any disciplinary actions is part of their process.

  9. I think a few harmless outbursts of vocal anger is how the overstresses blow of some obviously needed steam. There are people seemingly snapping all over the world these days, going kamakaze. Shouting is part of life sometimes. I see the other arguement of professionalisms behalf, but we’re all human and sometimes NOW is when said steam needs to be vented a bit, before anything pops.

Also think Castration would be best punishment for violent criminals. Maybe second offense, realistically…don’t want to wrongfully accuse or anything. Less money than incarceration, less chemical-hormonal high’s, the fear of losing one’s own gonads pre crime…

Radical shifts in government theory…Hunger for Prime Minister! More shouting, more castration. Rooftop gardens and moon shoes.
