I can’t help but notice all the girls and women wearing so much make-up! Raccoon eyes, caked faces, white or light silver eye shadow (hate this one in particular!). Why? Make-up is supposed to ENHANCE your look, not distract! Please stop. —From One Woman to Another

Give me natural beauty anyday…… OP, are you naturally beautiful? You should meet Q, although he finds everything beautiful.
The girls with the caked on makeup are the female equivalent of the guys with the popped collars, orange tans, Ed Hardy clothes, etc.
Fortunately douchebags and douchettes tend to roam in packs so they’re easily avoided.
you can thanks lady gaga for this. she’s brought the extreme makeup back so that your average girl is now looking like a MAC sales associate.
If you EVER see one with a lightening bolt stuck to her empty head, do us a favor and run her over.
I just completely laughed out loud at the MAC sale associate comment! haha They scare me.
I used to be a tomboy and refused to wear any kind of make-up when I was younger. Now I loove make-up, and don’t cake it on, but I pretty much always have bright coloured eye shadow on. I love make-up and would love to become a make-up ARTIST…as well as somthing else because they get paid nussin. I will continue to wear my neon eye shadow and I love it and everyone else can just deal with it. Sorry that it ruins your day..
OP…while there is merit to natural beauty, you are missing the purpose of “dramatic” make-up styles…they ARE meant to alter appearance, not just enhance it.
No-one would come away from genuine kabuki theatre, for instance, complaining about the make-up.
Think of the children…how sad would they be if instead of seeing Marilyn Manson rock the Metro center…all they saw was a rather mild looking bookish dude singing in front of sequenced tracks?
Oops, tha’s Alannis again…
Lady Gagga! Aaaaaaaaaaagh!!!!!!!!!!!!! Recycled seventies schtick in underpants trying to pass for originality.
Make-up for entertainment reasons or things of that nature would be a completely different subject matter than a girl/woman browsing the grocery store, mall, going to school/work, etc.
Too many Snooki wannabe’s out there.
C’mon anyone who gets their name from a Queen song can’t be that bad, but I don’t think girls are wearing more making now than 20-30 years ago, hell I knew girls that used to put it on with a shovel it seemed.
Hey Haliwoodgirl, is that near SackVegas?
just a highway away 😉
All I need is eyeshadow, and mascara
Ahh, but Halliwood…didn’t you know: “all the world’s a stage…and we are merely players..”?
but do the players on the stage have to look like the cast of CATS?
It’s the variety.
If all females wear loads of make-up…the natural ones stand out.
But, trust me, spend a few months amongst the hairy armpits, army boots and dreadlocks of Tofino, and a little skirt and perfume for a change starts seeming reaaalll nice…
Tofino!?! What were you doing there? That’s close to my neck of the woods. You weren’t hugging trees were you?
Amen OP!! I hate make-up and think it’s completely ludacris! To me it’s a subtle form of lying, because face it ladies, you don’t really look like that. And cue the “it’s men’s fault” arguement…
it’s men’s fault we’re ugly!!
natural beauty all the way. 🙂 its sad how girls conform to all of the other lemmings out there with a painted face and the same lululemon sweatpants. i find it quite amusing.
I’ll take make up any day over the hairy girls that dress like old ladies in this city……it’s a nasty surprise let me tell ya
Hey! Don’t knock the yoga pant! Haha! Those damn things are comfy as hell. Men get their shorts and sweats, and we get our Yoga pants.
“Make-up is supposed to ENHANCE your look, not distract!”
Then why is some of it called “cover-up”??
first and last….. so share please! (I’ll take it as a warning once I have more info…..)
…..Although a little makeup every now and then doesn’t hurt. It’s pretty bad you can’t go to the fucking laundromat or corner store without putting on eyeliner, mascara, blush and lipstick though. And any guy who can’t deal with girls au naturel should not deserve to be with one in the first place.
the gym and the hospital are signs you have your priorities out of whack.
ladies who work out and actually sweat get much more respect from me than those decked out and pacing themselves on the cardio….
This isn’t a show…. there are no camera’s… you’re not getting punked.
get to working out or get out of the fucking way.
you said it jonno.
You can blame the girls who wear makeup to yoga (you’ll find these are the same people who go to yoga for the athletic benefit, not the spiritual benefit).
Christ, I walked by a girl yesterday in Park lane coming out of Nubody’s, she looked and smelled like she was going to Pacifico. It was caked on more than theatre make-up.
The only thing my fiancee wears is a bit of lip gloss from time to time. Wouldn’t change it for anything.
Make-up also tends to streak down your face when you cry. ‘Cause I make all the ladies cry.
Bitches who wear make up to the gym/yoga deserve to be smacked like back in the 20s when it was still legal.
I agree with Jonno, I knew girls who put on make-up when they went to play ball, but I also see first and lasts point, hairy women leave a lot to be desired.
i can go either way on this issue. some women who wear a fair bit of makeup look pretty good. i think its more of knowing how to use it rather than the amount. when they do it right it compliments, as its supposed to, rather than being the only thing you notice.
i will take the natural look most any day. however, if it gives a woman confidence to have some make-up on, ill take that too.
The only time I wear ungodly ammount of make-up is when I’m doing a photo shoot.
Otherwise, I keep it simple because I’m too lazy to fuss with everything, and I still look pretty damn cute!
Haha… too bad you’re taken MS… whether too lazy or not, that’s the attitude I like…. ;-P
Not you too, jonnoman! Between you, me, and LS, damn, there’s some stiff competition happening here.
My ex is one of those who wears makeup to the gym and yoga. Always has to look her best in public, especially since we broke up, haha. Funny thing is the first time we did it, she was fucking hairy everywhere! Armpits, legs, bush – everything out of control! Don’t want to give too much away, but she’s an ethnicity which is known for having hairy, albeit still quite pretty, women.
Tofino, yeah.
I had a charter boat company back in the nineties called “pirate’s island cruises”…
based out of North Van…but spent time on the island over the years.
where are you, Bamfield?
Jonno/Q/LS, if my boyfriend “mysteriously” vanishes, I know who to blame
“stiff” competition indeed..
So she was Italian, Q? I tell ya, switch to Russian women. When we build them right, we build them right. But then again, it’s a bit of a crap shoot to get them right.
why is it the women with the dyed hair, fake eyelashes, lipstick, make up covered faces, boob’s enhanced, {either implanted or by way of padded bra’s} are always the first to go around complaining…”They can’t find any real men around here any more !”
She must have gone to the “Mimi School of Beauty”. Do you remember Mimi from “The Drew Carey Show”?
don’t you know o.p., beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
the worst are end of the line coug’s with bleach ravaged plat. blonde hair; weird ass tans; and caked on war paint; i kinda feel sory for their need to degrade themselves.
I will admit that I have really nice skin and don’t *need* to wear make up on a regular basis to look decent so maybe I’m not the right person speaking here (I mean, make up tends to cake when skin is too dry or too oily and you put on a powder or liquid that turns to powder), but tons of foundation feels icky and looks gross. I put on some actual foundation for NYE (I’ll use maybe a mineral powder in the summer or a tinted moisturizer in the winter if anything) and I not only felt gross, I looked wayyy too “painted.”
A lot can be said for a little powder/tinted moisturizer, a bit of blush and some dark brown mascara with some light lipgloss.
yeah i remember mimi timmy…i like the simpsons episode where the makeup gun is set wrong…is that okay web nazi
No, Bad MrF I’m in Victoria but head out there to Jordan River, Tofino and Ukee quite often.
I remembered the Simpsons episode too. Marge complained and Homer explained that he had mistakingly set it to ‘whore’.
Then he went to grab his cold cream gun.
“Women will like what I tell them to like” he says. Indeed.
I agree 100% with you cosmolilly :D! My eyes are my canvas :P. Today my eye shadow is orange, and it’s wicked. But I am all for not caking on foundation and what not. I went to the Dome once, and only once, and almost every girl in there, their faces were melting off. That’s not a good look.
yeah, they looked like about a second and a half after dorothy throws the water on the witch….
ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, I’m melting!
hah! very much agreed. the dome is a scary place!
LOL…..watch them melt in the rain into hideous, wrinkled, stretched-out hags.
