More of a rant/buyer beware then a bitch. In January I purchased an item from certain store in Bayers Lake. I was told that the next truck would be in on Feb 5th, and that my item would be on that truck—well FEb 5th came and went, no item. After a full month of calling, we finally hear last night (YES MARCH 5) that it was in and we could pick it up today!
Today we went to get it, only to be told a mistake was made, and it was actually out of stock. We demanded our money back, and after the sales guy yelled at us, we left to go find his manager at another location in the city, same company. We found him and got the same song and dance, sales are final = WTF = a sale is normally final when products exchange hands. In this situation, we paid and are getting nothing in return!! I had the same thing happen! I bought a item at a ‘furniture’ box store in Halifax and was told it would arrive in 2 weeks. The charge even showed up on my credit card the next day. Hmmm two weeks went by and nothing delivered, so I called them and got the “Oh, it’s still in the Montreal warehouse. It should be here in 2 weeks.” So they assured me…..2 weeks later, NOTHING. This time when I called I got the “Oh, I’m sorry, that item was discontinued 2 months ago and is no longer available.” Two months! How can you sell something that is discontinued and unavailable! When I asked for a refund, you gave me the run around saying I had to take the responsibility to call your admin office to give them my credit card number to reverse the charges! I will never shop at your “furniture” box store again….and yes, it’s in Halifax and has a warehouse in Burnside.
C’mon in your bitch you should have given us a hint as where to avoid.
haha, try ordering something from a tire store to use before a certain time, and you are fucked, even though said item is sposed to be in stock at that particular store. no it ain’t, you call them, ask them about it, they look in a book, lo and behold, yes we have 4 sets here. you go to said branch, tell them that you just talked to them there, they check, and guess what.? no fucking item there, you have to order it in from ont., okay, you do this. 2 months before you need it. finally after fucking around for 3 1/2 months, they get the item in, but not the one you ordered. and this is after the season for your item is over. what a way to run any fucking business.the cp one is the one, that i went to, never again. and the same with most stores, just a fucking song and dance deal.
I think I have an idea what place this is — did you pay an 80 dollar delivery fee for those “Pricks” to deliver it?
The best furniture buying experience I’ve ever had was at World Wide on Kempt. I was supposed to receive all my stuff three days after I bought it (chair, couch, love seat, end tables and coffee table), but the coffee tables and end tables weren’t on the truck. I called the sales lady and she was beside herself and said that if she had to, she would have the trucks come back and make the delivery that evening! I told her that the next delivery day (two days later) would be ok 🙂 Two thumbs up!
Does this furniture place have anything to do with Ashlee?
uhhh….sooo…anyone want to NAME the damned company? I hate when people say “Don’t buy from this crappy store” but then don’t oust the store’s name. If ten people say don’t buy from Ikea, people will start to avoid Ikea, and maybe Ikea will smarten the hell up. If you don’t say a name, the company will continue to giggle and take our money. Just sayin’.
I bought furniture a few years ago from the One store in highfield. The love seat out of the 3 piece set ripped after a few months so we called in the warranty. After a few months of us calling and them saying they were going to replace it we get a new story about how the set is discontinued and they can’t replace it. Funny, because this place and the Pricks in the BLIP are run by the same people.
BLIP, I never heard that phrase till the other day, and now I am hearing/seeing it everywhere.
I just went through the same type of shitty situation with Sears. And I agree , buyer beware for sure.
I recently visited a box store at the BLIP and expressed interest in purchasing a particular futon on behalf of my just-moved-out son, only to be told that I would have to wait 3 weeks before they could get one in. And no, I couldn’t buy the floor model. Frig that, said I! The next morning, my son visited The Futon Store on Young Street, where the most helpful staff: 1) didn’t try to sell him the most expensive futon in the store 2) helped him find a model in his price range; 3) built his futon on-site that afternoon, which he paid for and picked up at the end of the day. It has a lifetime warranty and they even gave him a discount on the mattress cover. Lesson: Fuck box stores! Reward good customer service! Buy local!
The Brick…terrible service, they should really tell you that all sales are final sales…jack asses
Unfortunately, this experience is par for the course at any furniture chain. They don’t keep much merchandise in stock and most order from the same companies in the US. I used to work at one of these fine stores in the HRM and I was constantly put in the position of telling customers who paid in full for their furniture, that it hasn’t arrived on the truck yet…or that it was out of stock…. or that the company no longer makes that item (“could you come in and reselect?”) Sometimes I would tell these lame excuses to the same customer 4 or 5 times over a month. These businesses accept that this is the way to do business. It made me sick to work there as I was constantly trying to screw people out of their money when I knew there was probably going to be a problem with their order. Ugh
