When I went to my car yesterday parked on Garrick Avenue to grab my guitar, I popped the trunk to find that BOTH guitars and my old-school suitcase full of clothes were missing. At first I thought maybe I’d already brought them into the house, and then I thought maybe somebody else had as a favour.
But what actually happened is some asshole desperate for cash stole my Dad’s 30-year-old Epiphone, my beat-up Stella guitar that’s worth about $5 and my old-fashioned blue suitcase stuffed with a vacation’s load of dirty clothes (my favourite ones and all of my underwear). Who the fuck steals a suitcase?
What scares me the most is that my clothes will be thrown somewhere as a ‘free for all’ down some alleyway for people to grab at, dirty underwear left in the rain (maybe it will get cleaned?). And my guitars, well I haven’t fully recovered from that yet.

hatchback?
Shopping cart?
ocean towers.
Nice.
My moms car got broken into this weekend. All they took was the cigerette butts out of her ashtray. I already know that its the crackheads who live in the building and she knows to. So now when she leaves her car, she opens the now empty ashtray, glove department and middle console for all to see that there is nothing there to steal.
Stolen guitar oh pleeeeaaaassssse don’t make 3 fucking songs and a career out of this fucker
don’t you just wish you lived in the bronx, then your whole car would have been gone, as well.
oh, and i saw a pair of blue frilly underwear on tower rd. today, they yours.
anybody who leaves a guitar in an unattended car on Garrick, or any street for that matter, is asking for it.
Word on the street is several crack dealers are accepting guitars as a form of “currency”. So be really careful with your guitars!
Here’s a hint: don’t leave your valuables in your car! Maybe you’re thinking “My guitar is only worth $5” but it’s going to cost you much more to replace and all a crackhead sees is a guitar and thinks big money. I just can’t feel bad for people like you who could have prevented this problem in the first place by taking the 5 seconds to remove your valuables.
There’s SERIOUSLY something wrong if the bitches truly believe if you leave something valuable in your car that a thief has default rights to take it. Having your shit stolen by the SCOURGE OF SOCIETY really sucks. Period.
It really sucks, and the thieves don’t have a right, but they WILL take the opportunity. Do what you can to protect your stuff by removing it from your car.
how would they know anything was even in the trunk unless it was
a. unlocked or
b. a hatchback
if a, you’re an idiot.
Hey, a few weeks ago someone broke into 3 cars in our secure garage (need a key to get in from any door). Luckily no one cares about a 1999 honda civic hatchback that smells like cigarettes and only contains garbage and a couple half full cans of pepsi. But it sounds like the OP was bringing stuff in from his car… and so maybe someone saw there were a couple guitars in there when he had the trunk open, and he shut it to bring his other shit in? I dunno, I don’t think he was being as careless as everyone assumes.
