You called in sick on a beautiful Monday. Coincidentally, our first beautiful day in a while. Monday is my scheduled day off, but, there I was at work covering for you.

I hope there is a legitimate reason why you were not at work. If so, get better soon because calling in sick on a Monday is not cool.

However, the fact remains I WAS THERE and not very happy about it. —Grrrrrumble

  1. Um. People *do* actually get sick on Mondays and on sunny days too, OB.

You think that illnesses don’t happen on days like that?

I know I didn’t choose to get C difficile on New Year’s Eve, but GUESS WHAT? Happened anyway.

  2. If said person is in a habit of taking Mondays off, then you may have good reason to squawk. If not, suck it up – your coworker’s not a fucking mind-reader.

  3. You don’t know if they weren’t actually sick. I bet you’re kicking yourself over being dumb enough to pick up your phone when they called you to cover, though.

  4. I go to work when I’m sick, and save my sick days for days I can enjoy. I also never call in sick, I always say “I won’t be in today”. Then again, nobody has to cover for me, my job waits till the next day.

  5. Right on OP, it better had been something serious to cause this much inconvenience.

  6. get off on thursday,
lick hobo on the way home…
    enjoy long weekend!

    you’re welcome.

  7. I guess there *are* perks to being chronically ill…

Too bad I always feel too guilty using it as an excuse to fake sick.

    heh.

  8. “Too bad I always feel too guilty using it as an excuse to fake sick. “

Why would you feel guilty? Exploit your weakness for personal gain/enjoyment. Naturally gifted athletes don’t lose on purpose because they feel guilty about being better than everyone else.
