Why is there no mail delivery today ?
I live in a rural area, & the road was clear by 7 am. The box that serves 35+ people on our road, is excessable ,if you don’t mind walking in 6 inches of snow…which as Nova Scotians you would think, most active people should be able to handle. Through rain & snow, sleet & hail my ass, your a bunch of whiney wimps, & its way past time to rewrite that slogan to “when convienient or eventually ,if we ever get around to it”.
Time to just pack in that Government Organization of overpaid underachievers & let the private sector & e-mail take care of it !

Pretty sure the “through rain and sleet…” slogan is only the American Post Office. Don’t think it’s a generic slogan used worldwide by postal workers everywhere.
Anyway, you do realize that even though you were plowed out at 7 in the morning, not all of HRM was? They weren’t going to bring in a few mail carriers to do the places that were plowed. Plus, even if the streets in the city were completed at a reasonable hour, people’s walkways probably weren’t shovelled, and the carriers wouldn’t be able to go up to most houses, so why bother doing piecemeal, they may as well just stay off the roads for the day.
Move into the city. My mail always arrives, my street and sidewalks are clear, and the garbage is gone well before the racoons can discover it.
No mail at my home and I live in Halifax.
You must have been expecting a pretty important package. Don’t know too many people rushing to get their bills. Does a day make that big of a difference.
And I am sure private sector have just as many of the whiney wimps that are over paid, underachievers, so don’t get to high on yourself. Or better yet how about you get off your ass and deliver the mail. I am sure you would have had fun yesterday.
I really hate these people that choose to live in rural areas, but expect all the coveniences of living in a city. I’m sure most of the delivery men/women were stuck somewhere just like 90% of the city and surrounding areas. And maybe their bosses didn’t want them to risk their lives delivering your mail. Have some consideration!
the rain, sleet snow shit is the u.s. postal service motto, not canada’s.when you only make 30 or 40 bucks an hour, would you trudge thru 6 inches of snow, not me. shit, no bills again today, yay.but damn them flyers and other shit always seem to make it to my mail box. where are my tax bills and such, i want to give more money out to the governments, they don’t have enough of it already. damn, maybe i should just get my nearest politico to drop in once a week and give him a nice fat cheque instead of mailing it and being at a loss for not knowing how much they want this week.
Actually, my home in the country receives mail delivery by 11a.m. and the off= the-beaten-path road is usually cleared in time for the morning crowd to leave for work – unless there is a major downfall, then we wait our turn and have a snow-day like everyone else.
Maybe your postie is Newman? He doesn’t work in the rain, he calls in sick.

Skunks, oh yeah, we got them but I never even see them or Raccons dead on the road until I get in past the airport !
matter of fact its been more than 3 years since i’ve seen a rabbit or even any of their tracks…hasn’t been many cats around anymore either .
I don’t get the Readers mag…I do get National Geo…but its not time for that yet.
FYI, we get & send our mail from our post boxes in the country, its convenient when you can get something into their hands like I do. I can see them when they are there & can just wander down and handoff my package.
Also to you city commenters, I don’t want the city services & our rural postal workers drive, they don’t walk ! So saying I’m commplaining about your city sidewalks & plowing problems isn’t my bitch…you DRIVE A POSTAL VEHICLE OUT HERE!
