OK! Enough! We’re up to our eyeballs in re-useable bags, water bottles, mugs, pens with tiny amounts of ink in them and t-shirts. Please stop producing this crap, giving it away as promotional material or as imagining that anyone would want it as (crappy) gifts.

Nobody cares where anybody else shops, eat or visits, what they listen to, where they do business or what they support. All that crap ends up in the landfill or languishing in thrift stores.

If another coffee mug was never produced on this planet again there would still be billions of them for millions of years to come. And besides… —I’m Not Your Billboard

  1. Twitter is evidence that your assertions of “what people want to know about you” is completely wrong. I agree with you, OB, so that makes us both wrong.

  2. Brand identification. It’s been happening forever. Does anyone remember wearing North Stars with your Howicks? Now, I don’t wear branded stuff, if it can be avoided. I don’t intend to be a walking billboard. That’s the intention….

This past weekend I attended a conference and received another swag bag of useless crap. It was disconcerting watching people push one another to receive their bag o’ crap. Then, to watch them rifle through the crap like kids on Christmas morning!? I’m getting jaded.

  3. Yeah – if I want crap, I’ll buy it myself. At least then it’s crap I want. North Stars, yes but what are Howicks?

  4. Ah – yes me too. Wranglers is what I wore. They were the only ones around here with a long enough inseam for me! 36!

  5. I agree OP, too much unnecessary, manufactured crap in this world. Littering our homes, our desks, our cars, filling the landfills meanwhile making a massive carbon footprint. People should strive to be minimalists.
