In the afternoon/evening, almost every 89 bus driver starts driver super fast as soon as the door closes, and it always causes people to run toward the back/fall into a seat. This only happens on this bus. It’s like you all hate your job and you want us to drop our travel mugs, jeez. And when you start and stop and on and off a ton of times within a minute or two to position yourself wherever, and it’s all jerky.. I’d say that it’s hard to drive a bus, but seeing as how no other bus drivers seem to have this issue, it’s just retarded, and then you have to stop for like 10 minutes at every check point to wait.. just drive slower, damnit!
It might seem like a stupid issue, but when you have to ride the bus for almost an hour after school/work, it would be nice to do homework without having the writing of a 5 year old.

  1. until we get robots, people are always going to have SOMETHING to bitch about with the transit system….
you’re going TOO fast! you’re WAITING at a stop that you should be waiting at!!!

OP, if you KNOW they’re going to do this, maybe account for it? grab on tight as soon as you get on… then once moving and you get the feel for inertia, go have a seat and scribble like a toddler. just make jot-notes until you get home and can elaborate/re-copy them. He’s TRYing to do you a favor be always being punctual.

  2. Man, be thankful. In most places the bus driver barely stops to let you on the bus. If you don’t walk up to the approaching bus it doesn’t even stop.

Buses aren’t designed for those doing homework, and never will be. If your that concerned about your hand writing, get a laptop.

  3. As far as jerkiness goes, can’t help you there, though I’d put the homework away if you ever end up on bus 949. Just sayin, unless it was fixed (VERY touchy brakes).

The 89 schedule has to be the most slapped together schedule ever. Besides running down Parkland with the 16 just about every trip, there is a huge time gap between RIM and Parkland. For the driver to not have to sit at RIM for 5+ minutes, they either leave Lacewood/Cobequid late (yes, it’s bad in both directions) or drive 30 in a 70 zone with no passing lanes. It needs more than a few “tweaks” to the schedule.

  4. jeeez you want to switch batters with me??? bob is one funny guy…the driving instructor shtick is one of my favs
