Ugh, I’ve been looking through the HRM Recreation Catalogue for the past half an hour and it’s such a headache to read.

My main issue is that for a lot of classes it’s impossible to tell how much they cost or where they take place. Sometimes these details are added, sometimes not. If it says a class is located at Northcliffe and costs $50, do we assume that this is the case for all classes below until it is otherwise specified?

I also thought it was weird that when you click the link to classes in Halifax, the first page or two lists classes offered in Fall River (which has its own category). Also, it wasn’t until I tilted my laptop screen wayyyy back that I could finally see that Fall and Winter activities are individually colour-coded.

I know in the big picture this is the pettiest thing to bitch about, and I know HRM has many, many more important things to focus on than this, but OMIGOD unjumbling this puzzle of a catalogue shouldn’t be a pre-requisite to taking a community rec class.

  1. You do know that there’s an actual booklet catalog you can pick up for free at any rec center. Looking through that instead of the one online might solve some of your problems. But be warned that booklet is horribly designed, the layout can be difficult to understand because it makes… no… sense.

  2. Or just call Halifax Recreation. As long as you know the general info of what you’re looking for; activity, age of participants, etc… they should have no problem finding the places, times, and cost of the programs you’re looking for. The Registration line should be listed in the catalog… if you can find it.

  3. For some reason, based on the title, I thought this was going to be a bitch about people having sex outside in HRM. Weird.

  4. I still have no idea what this is all about… nor where any rec centers are in hrm.
I suppose they aren’t spending their advertising dollars wisely.
this does sound like something I would want to waste a couple hours of my life on trying to find something to do…
suppose I’ll google and see what comes out of it.
