Hey, when I was in the Navy, the purpose of the fleet wasn’t to kill anyone. The Navy was to “deny the free passage of the enemy on the sea”, sounds peaceful to me.

In the infantry we didn’t ‘shoot to kill’, the marksmanship program was entitled “Shoot to Live”, ha ha. I sure miss those days, they were quirky times indeed.

My father gave his life in the service of his country, Canada. EVERY day is Remembrance Day in my family!!! I have ALWAYS observed Remembrance Day from the time I was a little tiny girl watching my Dad in parade proudly wearing his Canadian military uniform in the Remembrance Day ceremonies. How comforting to know that he died so that people like you could voice their insults freely!!!

I’ll be at Sullivan’s Pond. I had family in the military during both WW 1 and 2. Not in the Canadian Military, but their sacrifice still means a lot to me. That, among other reasons, is why I honour Remembrance Day.
