YOU know what’s not cool bus system… just missing the number one Thursday night, be bummed out, only to miss the bus right on its tail, also number one…ummm??….then wait at least 40 MINUTES while FIVE Number one buses go in the OPPOSITE direction. It was very cold and I don’t believe a hockey game should cause that much disruption (the reason given by bus driver). —Normally I Feel the Love But Not Tonight!

Meh. Happens in other cities, too. It sucks, but schedules get fouled due to any number of reasons.
This always seems to happen when I actually have to be somewhere at a certain time. I waited half an hour for a 1 one day, while watching three 1s go by in the other direction. The 1 never came and I got the 10 instead. I almost missed my connecting bus and would have to wait another 30+ minutes for the next one, while hanging out with the crazies and chimneys at the Sportsplex. I realize this shit happens, but it’s so frustrating when you plan your route and it’s supposed to get you to your destination 20 mins before you have to be there and then because of a late bus and bad scheduling, you could actually be an hour late.
I noticed that too last night. I called Gotime and it said the next bus wouldn’t come for another 25 minutes. This was at 6pm…I thought the #1 was supposed to run on a 10 minute headway.

I don’t really get why the OB would wait 40 minutes for the 1. Is there some prize you get for taking #1 that I am not aware of? Last I checked, there are several buses that go the same route as the 1.. maybe get on one of the other ones instead?
The one only runs every 10 minutes during rush hour, I believe.
Also: Naveed — the one is the only bus that runs down Coburg during regular hours (there’s a bus that comes over from dartmouth to mumford during rush hour, but it only goes one way in the morning and the other way at night).
Granted, it isn’t that far to walk to get to Oxford or Spring Garden, but all those other busses run on 30 minute cycles and some run on hour cycles at some points. So, if you expect a 1 would be along in 15 minutes or so, you likely wouldn’t go anywhere (and what if you left after 30 minutes and the bus came and you missed it?)?
That really sucks, OB. The one should never be THAT late. 🙁
