I am looking for some ideas for a romantic, non-religious location for a summer wedding ceremony. Does anyone know of any beautiful old buildings or outdoor locations that would make good wedding ceremony locations? —Planning bride

The yacht clubs in Halifax have beautiful settings for outdoor weddings – the Waegwoltic (sp?), St. Mary’s Boat Club … also Point Pleasant park, find a little area and have a great decorator do some romantic cloth from the trees with a beautiful archway. I bet you could find a beautiful apple orchard that is no longer in use. That would be stunning!

You should check out the Dalhousie University Club. It’s an old and magnificent building on a really pretty, green campus in the middle of the city. It’s also very affordable. http://daluclub.ca/book-an-event/weddings/
