  1. ALTERNATIVES:

You ,too, should have knelt at the appropriate time. Then perhaps you would not be subjecting a 3 year old to public transit.

  2. Wow, only two and the kid is already in charge. I can only imagine what she’ll be like when she hits school.

  3. RSVP Jesus:
She probably wanted to use the front door and have the driver kneel the bus because she was pushing her kid in a big-ass stroller. I’ve seen kids as old as 4 or 5 in strollers nowadays. Nuts!

    RSVP Pennis:
As soon as I saw the mention of kneeling I knew it would be your cue to respond with a bit of sarcasm.

  4. Ah get over it OB. My kid loves the bus so we end up taking it a couple times a week. I don’t expect to get treated like a special snowflake so he can sit where he wants and still get to use the front door. God forbid people with kids should actually have to like, you know…. parent them and take responsibility for them.

  5. FFS ^ Yaaaaaa. Getting off at the front door is such entitled behaviour. The lady finds it easier to get off at the front because it kneels. It is such a simple concept, folks. Not sure how special snowflake syndrome (SSS) comes into play here.

  6. ^^^When you’re sitting at the back and then having to take your kid to the front, presumably during the busy morning commute, it is actually pretty entitled behaviour. From most of the busses, it’s about a 6-inch step from the back door to the curb. Easily navigable by most two-year-olds and their parents. She’s going to expect the ramp to be lowered next, mark my words.

Yes, given the apparent delay between submission of Bitches and actual publication I decided to factor in a margin of error. An over-reach perhaps, but in the words of Lucien The Millworker from Dal’owzee sur la Nort Shore – “Sefftee Furs!”

Yes, but you have failed to explain why you “knew”t hat I would respond. Write back soon with evidence that can withstand the rigours of a Socratic Dialogue.

  8. Since moving to Halifax 25 years ago I have been befuddled as to why people exit through the front door. Unless you NEED to use the kneeling feature or the ramp, EVERYBODY should exit by the rear door. Getting off through the front door only delay the bus because people wanting to board have to wait while inconsiderate people want to get off using the front door.

  9. Pennis,
I was expecting you to respond in the way you did because you have shown yourself to be unable to resist making such comments regarding any bitch with even the vaguest of sexual connotations….. not that there’s anything wrong with that …

  10. You need to relax Styles. Common courtesy indicates you exit through the nearest door. Not push your way past a dozen or more morning commuters to get your special snowflake treatment. Do I care? Nah. Courtesy in this city went out the window ages ago, so I no longer expect it.

  11. I have much, much chill. In my opinion, choosing to get off the front entrance-because it kneels and you have a child- is perfectly reasonable behaviour. If any of those morning commuters have any actual, tangible negative reaction to this behaviour it is they who are the problem. And as far as you not caring, methinks, doth protest, etc.

  12. So the ones complaining would rather the mama bring on a stroller that takes up a lot of space? It’s better when the kid can just walk on the bus. Less room gets taken up.

  13. Yeah well I don’t know how many times I’m on a rush hour bus and some baby mama and her brood wait until the bus stops, then slowly make their way to the front of the bus because their kids WANTS to get off the front meanwhile what should have taken 2 seconds to disembark takes 15 seconds. Ugh…seriously, it’s called PUBLIC transportation for a reason. This is why people in this city don’t commute by bus, instead fill up the roads with cars.
