So you asked for straight facts, here they are: Your dear cat with NO ID had been wandering at least three city blocks for three months, and spotted many times by several concerned neighbours watching him dodge the cars on busy Queen Street. There actually were three of us feeding & watering him, worried since he seemed disoriented, desperate for attention, he followed me home and on some days his ribs actually appeared “caved in”. At least, someone had the sense to get him neutered (less fighting, injuries, unwanted kittens). If the cat-rescue woman seemed agitated, it’s because she’s seen so much avoidable animal suffering. Also, vet expenses were involved. I realize cats love the great outdoors, and indoor cats are more work – litter boxes, scratching furniture, playing with, etc. But at the very least, give your beloved cat a chance with an ID collar, the “break-away” type is safe. You only have to come home once to find the little dead body hit by a car before you change your outdoor-cat philosophy. —Nine lives? Lucky So Far…

  1. Stop worrying about the damn cats.
There’s millions of them, one more or less makes no difference. Yet the more of them running around the city the fewer rats one sees.

  2. I think I know about this Queen Street kitteh. The little orange and white one? He likes to chill around my home and I always pet him :). He does seem quite thin but I usually see the same woman telling him to “come here” and takes him somewhere. Maybe that’s the crazy woman or the owner. No collar indeed.

  3. I said this to OP myself.. that this is a city, not a small town where cars meander gently to and fro and stop for ants should one step in their path.

Do you plan to return kit to owner? I also will help a stray if i find one that appears to want human attention. I’m on your side, though i feel bad for the original poster too..

  4. well did you honestly expect it to get up and walk away???

you can’t trade it in for a nickel so the hobo’s want nothing of it.
