So I am a smoker, and I can’t get over the number of people that come up to me outside Scotia Square and ask for one. It’s always the same people too, and how many times can I say no. A group of us will even smoke behind the bush and you still find us. The worse part is most of you smell horrible and don’t have a shirt on half the time. So clue in, no one is going to give you a smoke, so bugger off.

Heaven forbid you have a smoke while waiting for the bus at Sportsplex Bridge terminal. It’s like feeding the ducks, you’ll get swarmed.
I know this solution may be coplex and it really isn’t for everyone but here we do.
Just say “No, sorry.”

Now you can say it on your own. If they ask again call teh cops and tell them you’re being harrassed.
FYI if you go up to the second level there is a square out back where they are currently doing work. They haven’t seemed to find that spot yet.

Smokes cost more than twice as much now as they did when I smoked. I would not want some fuck coming up to me after my hard day of work and asking for the fruits of my labour, especially someone whose main accomplishment for the day was not putting his pants on backwards. It’s just obnoxious…like poking someone in the ribs.

i was told that smoking staves off hunger (because nicotene curbs a person’s appetite), and it is for that reason some homeless/hungry people smoke. (or have i wrongly assumed the OP was speaking about ‘horrible smelling/shirtless’ homeless people bumming cigarettes?)
