If you could do a better job OB, send them home and do it yourself, otherwise , shut the fuck up and be patient.
Mind you, OP, they probably start early as fuck and by the time you leave they’re taking their morning break. Work like that isn’t exactly easy — they’re entitled to two breaks and a lunch hour.
Although I will admit it’s probably not all THAT hard to hold a stop sigh up all day….esp while listening to an ipod (yah, that’s right, I’ve seen it).
I’d be frustrated to, though OP, if I was in your situation. At least they don’t do it at night. Some people ahve suggested they work on major intersections at night (Dunbrack/Lacewood and Dunbrack/Willett has been a nightmare over the past month or so) and….while that’s ok in non residential areas I don’t think it would fly in other areas.

Honestly, you’re probably part of the same group of people who complain about nothing improving in Halifax. When work gets done and things start improving you whine about the noise probably disturbing your internet porn time.

I live near Fenwick and this fucking work has been going on for well over a year now, maybe two even. When I venture to Sobeys or Blockbuster or the NSLC, its not an unusual sight to see a few workers sitting in a car reading a book or doing crosswords.
And it goes on for more than just a standard 15-20 minute break time.
Honestly I can agree with the OP and the folks who live on/near Fenwick, Queen and surrounding. It’s depressing to walk by it so opening your curtains to it daily for a couple years can be a pain in the ass.
NGF et al, I believe it’s all part of the gasline laying. If so, the last thing I want is for them to rush and screw up. Can anyone say BOOM.

If it’s a gas line installation, I think that’s private enterprise. They don’t fuck around, the job gets done as fast as possible, they take the lowest tender and the winner needs to move it along or lose serious coin.
I can’t imagine anything taking two years on one block, that’s just not feasible. Even an underground subway doesn’t take that long!
The short street T-boning off the street I live on was a water line replacement and total curb and pavement re-do, it took a little over 2 months of 7:30 starts with big equipment and working late till the sun goes down. These things take time.
Sometimes shit happens that fucks up the schedule and people end up waiting for other work to get done before the stuff they do can get done. Sometimes workers just hafta wait for periods of time.

That’s pretty much what I figured Smee. I think the jobs where you get to sit and do crosswords, just cause you want to, are few and far between.
I can do crosswords at work. In fact I can play video games too. It’s great.
BF must work for the NS government doing indoor renovations or something 😛
