To the group of little grls and their inconsiderate troupe leaders riding the 20 downtown today, Get control of your children and learn to be considerate to the other passengers. not only were the kids all over the place, swinging between seats, hitting passengers with their backpacks and generally being unrully, but one overweight bitch in blue was blocking the back of the bus so no one could sit in the many seats back there, im glad you like staring back at your unruly group of little shits and the many vacant seats while many passengers (including an old man with a cane) STOOD behind you. Charter a bus next time or walk, you also delaed the bus by taking 5 mins to organize getting on and made me late for work. Thanks alot.

  1. Are you fucking serious? If you needed a seat, a simple and polite ‘Excuse Me’ to the “overweight bitch in blue” would work wonders. And the whole “5 mins” that it took them to organize made you late for work, huh??
Well. I think you should strike off a haughty letter to the Girl Guides of Canada immediately. They should be aware of the kind of thugs they’re cultivating.

  2. Made you late for work? If you’re that pressed for time that you can’t spare 5 minutes, maybe you need to catch an earlier bus to go to work. Thats your own fault that you were late.

  3. you do not have the right to expect ever group of people who annoy you in public to find another place to be/get to were they are going just to spare you from being annoyed.

These kids although I am sure it was noisy and probably a little obnoxious to be around were probably just excited to get to were they were going.

  4. So much I want to say to OP, so much tact & professionalism I must display:

OP, first off, this is public transit, so anyone, from the company CEO to the jail inmate on leave, has the right to ride on a fare assuming they haven’t gone off and done something that got them banned from transit. This being summer, groups of kids do get on the bus from time to time, and the leaders have a responsibility to make sure as many kids get off as got on. This takes time, but they’re doing their job, and I will always respect that. You say get a charter? Great, check the rates on those bad boys. It’s much cheaper to take MT and to save the charters for out of town excursions. These groups are not made of money, and my experience is that they know the drill and have their fare handy just as, if not more, often than the average single rider.

Late for work? Boo urns, I take transit to work some days and that’d never fly with my bosses. Why? Because every driver knows to take the bus BEFORE the one that gets them there on time (assuming it runs more than once an hour). Since this was the 20 we’re talking about, it comes quite frequently, and you could always have taken the 19 and transferred at Mumford(I’m assuming you live before Greystone Dr. If you live beyond, please disregard).

    OK, I’m done ranting.

  5. I hate it when childcare groups get on the bus, it’s a time consuming pain in the ass. They often expect everyone already on the bus to get up and move/stand so their charges can all sit together, they’re loud and listening to the adults talk to the kids in that overly bright, sing song voice makes me want to vomit…..”Ok friends, let’s all find a seat with your buddy” *gag*. That being said, as Plastic Diver Guy pointed out, it is public transit and everyone from the crazy wino to the daycare kids get to ride as long as they pay their fare.

  6. In order for this troop to charter a bus they probably would’ve had to nix this trip or other activities.

Sure it’s annoying when a bunch of kids gets on the bus, but at least they’re doing something like Girl Guides/Scouts instead of sitting in front of a computer or TV all day playing video games or getting into trouble. When i was little and in daycare (back in the early/mid 80s) we’d take the bus all the time to go on outings. Same when i was in guides. Without cheap public transit I’m sure we wouldn’t’ve been able to go anywhere (also, most schoolboards, for example, require extra insurance on cars to transport kids under their care, so a lot of parents can’t drive other kids to school outings during school hours so the bus it is).

And this “overweight bitch”….was she a kid? because if you’re calling a fat kid a “bitch” shame on you….if she was a troop leader, then why not try saying “excuse me please” instead of pissing and moaning about her blocking the back seats. Most people are more than willing to step aside when asked. People aren’t as unreasonable as people think. It’s quite easy to villainize someone you’ve never even talked to.

  7. It is annoying. The leaders need better control, and they don’t have it. I’ve seen groups of kids get on and behave, so it’s not all kids. Some people just aren’t doing their jobs very well.
