heh I can’t help but point out… that here this city was blessed with a FREE concert… lovely sounds to get us moving and have fun… and yet most people were just standing around, not allowing the vibrations to get them moving! You know it’s fun to dance eh? And most importantly, there’s no good in being afraid to dance, fear is imaginary, it doesn’t exist. Not saying everyone was like that, but there were a lot of them. Kinda took away from the concert feel, you know, bashing around getting all fucked up and hopefully going home with at least a bruise! Hahah maybe I’m just old fashioned. Perhaps I should join the new wave…. of standing politely with arms crossed and not really exploring or enjoying the body we’ve been blessed with hahahahahah nah. Liven up baby!

Did you ever think that perhaps people weren’t dancing and moving around because the vibrations didn’t get to them? Maybe they thought the concert was lousy. Maybe they weren’t afraid, maybe you were just one of the few losers who thought it was awesome while everyone else thought otherwise, ya hippy 🙂
Maybe not everyone was as wasted as you.
Pull the rainbow out of your asshole. Not everyone needs to dance to enjoy music.
I bet the OP is one of those knobs that flails their limbs around like those messed up ecstasy kids.
If you were one of those jerks that was moshing and slamming into people who were trying to enjoy the show (aka me and my friends)..I hope you enjoyed the kick in the back 😛
I never ended up going but i would have rocked out.
I would have rocked out more if there were better bands….
Moshing isn’t dancing, douchbag.
agreed
No but dancing to Hey Rosetta is dancing! And I think there were about four of us!! Ive NEVER seen a HR! set with so many still people.
And re: the “Moshing” that was equally bad! If youre going to mosh, then mosh, that random swaying BS was… well BS.
But to get back to the unmoving crowd. It was a bit of a drag at first – and this has nothing to do with the rainbow in my ass, but it would have made the concert a lot more enjoyable if people actually looked like they were enjoying it!! Haha, and if they werent… well go sit the fuck down! Some of us wanted to have a good time with the music!
Imagine, standing there and enjoying music and not bothering or jostling your neighbour. Ahh, what a concept. Go dance where you’re not bothering people.
I fucking hate it when people, in an arena setting, stand up and block your view. Not all of us want to stand up for hours listening to bands. Especially with the price of tickets. That’s why there are seats there.
I’ve been to many a rock concert and I’ve never seen anyone dance. Power to you if you think your dancing is the shit but I can guarantee you everyone else there thought you were annoying as fuck.
I love music. I eat sleep and breathe it. Listen to it. Write it. Play it. And I hate dancing in public. It’s not an insecurity thing. I just dont care to. I like watching all the other people dance. It’s very entertaining.
I was up “dancing” (i.e bobbing hah) around for hey rosetta, and so were all the other people around me. You just must have been in the wrong spot.
I hate people who are all like “come daaaance” and they try to literally drag you onto the dance floor like we’re all in some shitty movie about learning to love again.
I love dancing, but just because I don’t dance to every song (especially if it’s shitty music) doesn’t mean Im not having a good time. Could there be anyone lamer than the dancing/not dancing police?
Ok guys given that not everyone likes to dance at a concert but get over yourselves please. Fizz, really, you’ve never seen anyone dance at a concert? What, were you watching the opera or something? If you guys are going to be that bothered, stay the fuck home and put on a live DVD or something. Boring wankers.
I like that “shitty movie about learning to love again” comment Mole Rat. I can totally relate. I can have a perfectly good time at a concert/bar/party just sitting and watching. When I am forcibly made to dance – that’s when my mood turns a little sour. I can’t stand people who think that everyone who’s not dancing is having a shitty time.
I thought I saw people dancing – it could have just been them manically flailing their arms as they lost their footing on that steep wet hill though.
Moshing?! I didn’t know it was 1986 and Anthrax was playing.
Teehee, I’m glad we sorted that out. So not everyone wants to dance. It IS a lot of fun, I swear, getting the body moving, juices flowing, chakras a blowin’ (hahah), however the choice to not dance or to pout must be respected.
PS: is that one of “the” four, arms linked pushing through to the center of the crowd? If so… fuckin a! If not…. fuckin a! heheh
I really feel the OB’s pain!
Dancing is a key to the soul and spirit within and so many folks think it’s something to analyze, critique, laugh at, and shit on!!!…………Well to them I do the FUCK-YOU dance with the finger! Go fuck yourself and close your eyes if you can’t stand it. (or actually can only STAND it) Liven up baby!
you go smee haha
i dunno i think dancing is lame haha
Yeah BRoc, I was listening to opera, that’s why I said “rock concert”.
Should I go over that again? I’ve never seen anyone dance at a ‘rock’ concert. Keyword: rock. R – O – C – K. Not the kind you find on the ground, the kind that you hear with your ears.
At it’s most basic, Virgin Fest was a rock concert, BRoc. I’ve seen headbanging, foot tapping, arm pumping, lighter waving, and unfortunately moshing; but I rightly classify all of those in the not dancing category. Thus I have never seen anybody dance at a rock concert. I’ve never seen anyone get so offended by my personal experience either.
As long as people aren’t dancing in the middle of a tightly packed crowd (like the ones you find at most rock concerts!) I don’t mind it. But OP sounds 1) like they were doing just that, and 2) like a douchebag for reasons others have outlined above. “OMG nobody explored and enjoyed the body they were blessed with and it totally ruined my concert experience! They are all obviously insecure about themselves, but I’m so totally not!”
Oh and BRoc, if you and OP are going to be that bothered that other people aren’t “dancing” to fucking rock music then stay the fuck home and enjoy and explore your bodies by jacking off.
Fizz, I didn’t say that I was upset that people didn’t want to dance (I suggest YOU reread my post). I said you’re all a bunch of wanking asshats for getting upset over people dancing. Like I said before, get over yourselves and let people be. You might find that life is a little less stressful if you don’t whine over petty selfish inconveniences.
I couldnt care less if other people around me are dancing, PROVIDED, as Fizz said, they aren’t in a tight crowd bumping into people, which tends to happen to me everytime I go to one. It’s soooo annoying. Dance if you want, but back the fuck up and go somewhere you can actually moooove without hitting people.
BRoc, I didn’t say that I was upset that people dance (I suggest YOU reread my post). I said OP is a douchebag for getting upset over people not wanting to dance. And so are you:
How is not wanting to be knocked to the ground while I’m trying to enjoy a live show a petty selfish inconvenience? The inconvenience of people not dancing at a ROCK concert is petty and selfish. OP wants everyone to dance because when they don’t it “takes away the concert feel”. OP must dance at a concert, even if the crowd is tightly packed and they might just be bothering other people when they bump into them, but hey OP is having fun, and that’s all that matters!
How about this, you enjoy music the way you see fit, and everyone else at the rock concert will enjoy music as they see fit by standing around and laughing at the drunk people dancing. Just don’t bump the bump the fuck into me or they’ll be laughing at you getting your ass kicked.
