Insurance companies are thieves. Some of the premiums they charge are disgusting, and you better hope you never have to make a claim. They’re all a bunch of slimy snakes. I should know: I worked for one… for about two weeks then quit when I realized how they’re all just a bunch of assholes who do whatever they can to get out of paying what they agreed to. They claim they’re all about their customers. Meanwhile they do everything they can not to have to actually help said customers all the while brainwashing their employees into thinking they’re the second coming of Christ.
Nationalize the insurance industry. Home, auto, commercial — all of it! I mean, it’s mandatory to have personal liability insurance on an auto policy, for instance, yet totally common to have a policy that costs more per year than the actual value of the vehicle! How the hell does THAT happen? Fuck them all. Assholes. —Doesn’t Want to Work for Thieves Anymo’

Chill up little one……it’s insurance……which necessitates fine print…….and also requires people to read this tome of said fine print.
No, there are no surprises and yes you have to do your part in order to have a claim approved. Similarly, banks have the no-fault type thing when you do online banking with their servers —- however, if your personal virus software is not up-to-date then this limits and/or voids any liability on their part.
I have home/auto/critical care/travel/health/credit card/ etc. ~ peace of mind is a piece of the puzzle. Pay it.
My b!tch would be the people who do not have insurance and cry on the evening news when they lost everything due to a fire/flood/locusts/gerbil in the ass type of malarky.
Here! Here!
There is a special place in Dante’s Inferno for insurers. The hell they put you through should equal, if not treble, what they face if there is an afterlife. Bastards! (Imagine having to give a weekly telephone report on the status of a parent’s terminal illness, including written note from doctor predicting the date of death -dr refused to offer a date, btw- in order for them not to terminate the claim because the family emergency meant a trip out of province necessitating interuption of physiotherapy.)
Op is spot on!
you are just now finding out that they are crooks. hell, ask anyone over 80, and they will tell you they knew, 50 plus years ago.
insurance is the second biggest scam in canada, politics being the first.but why should you listen to any advice here, you will only wait 40 years before you learn that too.
Nationalize it – because if anyone can fuck it up more than the insurance industry themselves, its government. lol
speaking as someone who has gotten fucked over, i know what you mean. they are the fucking bastards that suck you cash out, while sucking you in, to get their shit policies.

I don’t work for or have any affiliation with any insurance company, but would like to tell you about my experience with Life Insurance.
My wife and I took out life insurance years ago, kept up with all the payments, and when she passed away nearly 4 years ago, once the insurance company received all the forms, I received the payout.
I’ve heard of horror stories, but in my case everything went as expected.
“it’s mandatory to have personal liability insurance on an auto policy, for instance, yet totally common to have a policy that costs more per year than the actual value of the vehicle! How the hell does THAT happen?”
This shows how little you know about your actual coverage. Liability coverage has nothing to do with the value of your vehicle, it has to do with how badly you can fuck up someone’s car, life, property, etc. with the use of your vehicle. What you are thinking of is collision coverage. I’m not in the biz, I just give a little thought to what I’m paying for before I bitch about it.
I did a stint in the insurance industry, and I think what OP was saying is, it’s shitty that your insurance can cost more than your car.
I believe Manitoba has nationalized insurance, and I’ve heard great things.
I’ve also had to deal with insurance when i was injured a few years back. They ARE snakes! I had to provide the shoes I was wearing after being interrogated about what was on my feet at the time and even interrogated about whether or not I was drunk or on drugs!
And the soft tissue injury cap is a JOKE. You tear a ligament and that shit can plague you for the rest of your life.
Like I said, I did a stint in the insurance industry and there are some pretty shitty people working in insurance. Especially in claims.
Insurance that costs more than the car? What the hell are you driving? A Neon? A Cavalier? Most university grads know how to get great deals on insurance through alumni groups. Let the suckers pay the outrageous rates.
Insurance companies are fucking douchebags!!!!! I had a 1000 dollar accident 8 years ago. My insurance rate is just returning to normal in the last 2 years.
I rearended a lady causing very little damage, told her if it was around 1000 dollars I would pay out of pocket to have it fixed. She went and put it through insurance. When my insurance was up for renewal, my quote came back at 4 times my previous rate. I called the insurance company, asked them to send me the bill for repairs, totaled 1050 dollars. Over the last 7 years I have payed insurance companies over 12,000 in extra premiums for a 1050 dollar accident. Pretty sweet for them huh? In any other business that would be called extortion.
Yeah, try working for those douchesacks.
I have never had a problem with any of my insurance companies. Whether from a vehicle accidents (only one my fault), to a home fire (small but smoke damage throughout), broken water pipe in the bathroom. Everything was repaired/replaced to better than what it was, no hassles, no fuss, no muss. In one auto accident the other guy was trying to blame me and seven years later (the courts are slow LOL) with my company backing me, the judge basically laughed it out of court. So I have no complaints. My total bill is under $70 a month both auto and tenants.
Ive never had any problems finding an insurance company that will take my money. But on the only 2 occasions that i needed them, the told me that i wasn’t covered.
I had a tent trailer that was rear ended. Although my vehicle’s laibility extends to the trailer, nothing else does. So i was the person stuck making all the phone calls to the other driver’s insurance company, and they were in another city and not answering my calls.
If there wasn’t so many people trying to scam them it wouldn’t be so hard to get them to grant a claim. They’re still at the very bottom of my shit list though. Biggest scam on earth.
You guys have no idea what these shitsacks are capable of.
