How is it that someone breaks the law, ends up in custody, breaks the law AGAIN, kills someone, goes to jail, breaks the law there and does not make an ounce of effort to redeem himself or better his life, gets let out of jail EARLY and the Penal system thinks that “imposing special conditions” is going to keep this moron from killing someone else?

Have to agree with the OP.
If someone gets caught doing illegal stuff while in prison, can’t they be tried and convicted for it, thereby extending their sentence?
I think that would depend on the severity of the crime, nevermind. Some crimes don’t warrant jail time but are still illegal, so they probably couldn’t pin more jail time on the person that way. The special conditions are bull though, especially when conditions include banning things which the inmate managed to have in jail.
Somebody should teach him the true meaning of the Golden Rule as soon as he steps foot on a sidewalk.
A lot of this can be laid squarely at the feet of the Left Wing Judiciary – Judge Anne Derrick is a fine example of that.
Senile you got that right. Thank God the Upper Courts throw out her rulings. She only got the job because the PCs had to appease the NDP. I’m not sure who is worse Anne (The Cops Are Always Wrong) Derrick or Pam (Wrist Slapper Of Brats) Williams or Corrine (The Brats Are Just Misunderstood) Sparks. And no I’m not a female judge basher, Alanna Murphy, Anne Crawford, and Margaret Stewart are excellent judges
I see she set the benchmark (pun intended) even lower yesterday with another cop bashing decision.
The one where the kid resisted arrest because she/he didn’t know she/he was suspended. That’s BULLSHIT and it really grinds my gears.
If she didn’t know she was suspended then say, “ok, you’re suspended now get off school property…no? then you’re resisting arrest”. Fuck sakes, I’m getting sick to death of the “bubble our youth into thinking that they can do nothing wrong and that there is no consequences to any of their actions” attitude bullshit.
I’d have to also agree with Senile. A little part of me died inside when Anne Derrick was appointed to the bench.
I saw that gummy prick on the cover of the Herald today and instantly knew that I hated him before I even knew what he did.
i came upon that accident shortly after it happened…..really bad…that smiling picture is just too much for me
Okay, so he’s a little punk who was hard before he was sentenced as an adult. Now he’s an older punk with a worse attitude (as if prison should improve an attitude) who has SERVED HIS TIME. Be grateful Canadian law is written the way it is and there’s no gestapo who can lengthen or shorten your sentence on a whim or because you bad mouthed the prison big shot or whatever.
This is a touchy issue for me… reminds me of the recent petition going around to put the two boys (age 11) who tortured and killed a younger boy (he was 4 or 5 years old). Sorry, I don’t know their names or even the poor victim’s name but the boys did this when they were 11 years old. (How many of us had adult brains at 11 years old. NOBODY) They were tried and sentenced as adults. 20 years later they’ve served their time and have been released. Now there’s a petition going around to not allow them an identity change and to chuck them back into prison.
If we’re not going to condone capital punishment we need to be sure there’s REHABILITATION going on behind bars. If there’s not, and there’s no public confidence that there is, bitches like these will appear everyday. Even though you’ve done your time, in Canada, your safety is at risk upon release whether you learned your lesson or not.
kay: My child brain at 11 knew to not torture and kill a boy. Only 20 years? Chuck ’em back in.
