Saw an article today that an Annapolis Valley man got four years for dealing pot. That is the same time a man served for molesting kids, and it wasn’t the first time he did it. Thanks, Feds, for telling me what our kids are worth. Sickening. —Why So Little?
This article appears in Jul 21-27, 2011.

How the hell do you equate that to dope and kiddie porn, or whatever? Seems to be an infection of stupid going on lately in this country.
If you do dope, you are automatically a molester, hmmm, good show there.
Dealing’s probably a great way to meet kids, though.
lolz Ivan does make a point. And peg pigg, if you had bothered to read the entire bitch, you would see that the OP’s point is that there should much longer sentences for pedophilia because dealing drugs is not as severe a crime as pedophilia.
Yeah but doing four years in the joint for joints is a hell of a lot different than doing four years for diddling kids. As bad as they may be, the vast majority of prisoners have a real hate on for pervs that like kids. “Accidents” can and do happen in prison.
Perhaps the penalties for all crimes will have to go up. Maybe turning right on a red when prohibited by signage should be punished by 10 years in prison.
This will be the only way the Conservatives will be able to fill up all the new prisons they plan on building.
Four years for dealing pot? Too harsh.
Four years for child molestation? Not harsh enough.
Such is the state of our justice system.
Yes, Iread it a second and third time, but still nowhere see how much time this person got for molestation. Just that one other person got four years also.
b ut yes, it is not nearly enough time, when they do any, at all. You just have to love how justice works.
Oh, now i see where you are going there, friend. Yeah, he got the same amount as the guy with the pot. I stand corrected.
“Turning right on a red” – sounds like it would qualify as a Hate Crime in someone’s utopia. 20 years Corrective Labor on an urban farm. j/k >; )
peg pigg, you aren’t very bright, huh? ha ha
You would have to see the terms of the sentences in each case.Four years for molestation of a minor especially if it isn’t the first time seems light but there may have some sort extenuating circumstance that wasn’t published due to the minor’s age.
Four years for dealing pot is insane, let’s leave room in the prisons for real criminals.
OP, that’s excellent news. Four years for illegal drugs, trafficking with intent to sell. Repeat offender. Hope he enjoys it behind bars. I think this is worth celebrating. One less drug dealer on the streets. Or are you just pissed you have to find a new dealer. Hope you get caught too.
Sebastian, and what do you think of child molesters? I only ask because i see that issue is noticeably absent from your rant.
What is drug dealing? I think it’s a fine line we are walking when it come down to definition. Doctors get big bonuses for prescribing unneeded drugs to patients. I can walk into any doctors office complaining about stress, and be prescribed a physically addictive anti-psychotic drug to cure it. If I have pain I can be prescribed an opiate, which is also harmful and addictive.
Suddenly a guy selling a little pot to his buddies doesn’t sound so bad. Maybe the law makers in this country should spend a little more time reviewing what is important, I don’t thin marijuana really falls under the moniker of “important”. We should be legalizing it and collecting taxes on it, instead we continue to make a bunch of gangster rich while throwing money down a ever growing hole called ” the war on drugs “.
Just look at whT the war on drugs has done to the American prison system. Manditory minimums, three strikes your out, having rules like this has propelled the prison system to be a bulti billion dlar a year business. I for one can’t wait to pick up the tab for Canadian prisons when that Fucking douche of a prime minister introduces the same rules in this country.
Stephen Harper Is The Devil,
I think most Canadians, including me, agree with you.
But the Prime Minister, along with most of his cabinet, saw a screening of “Reefer Madness” back when they were still young and impressionable and wondering what sex was going to be like, and it has forever molded their views on what drugs are “good” (those with profitable patents) and what drugs are “bad” (those grown in window boxes).
the prohibtion of mairjuana is fucking stupid. so much money is wasted on it with no concrete results.
This guy wasn’t dealing pot, he was dealing various narcotics (I assume hillbilly heroin action) but even still… they aren’t pushers! lol. The customers make a choice to ingest whatever drugs into their system that they choose. It’ll be a cold day in hell before I let the government or anyone else tell me what to do with my own body. Therefore, I agree with many of them comments here – and I see OP’s point.
Let Harper build US (or better yet Brazilian) style prisons for the diddlers, white collar criminals, and violent offenders.
Let Harper build Norwegian style prisons for pot possession, and popping a cap in the ass of a burgular/home invader.
People don’t sell drugs, drugs sell themselves. For millions it really is the only way. The US has managed to keep slavery alive through their “justice” and prison systems by stacking the odds against the most vulnerable segments of their populous. The war on drugs is a war on poor, marginalized people.
Actually many child molesters get less than 2 years…
I worked at a NEEDS on backshift for a while and read a lot of papers…
Under Harper’s new law, possession of 5 plants will get you hard time.
Fucking a goat in front of a minor will get you 6 months.
I donno who’s moral’s Stephen Harper is working off, but they aren’t mine…
So we are trusting the moral compass of a NEEDS employee to help us determine the morals of the prime minister of Canada?
heh
—–Fucking a goat in front of a minor will get you 6 months—–
1- did you meet the goat at Needs?
2- how long did you serve?
6 Months or a Canada Council Grant.
…And for the second time in my lifetime, Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition is the Bloc Quebecois. R.I.P. Jack.
