I never knew what it was called but know exactly what you’re talking about.
I don’t mind horking as much as snot rockets. Every now and then I see some guy walking towards me and he will suddenly put a finger against one nostril. I then know what’s coming – he immediately and forcefully fires a green missile (a snot rocket) out the other nostril onto the sidewalk.
I tell you this, not to put you off your next meal, but to say that there are worse things than horking.
Dear disgusted at dal: we, as individual’s with unfathomable discomfort in our bronchial regions, should not have to sacrifice our own comfort for yours as we relieve our sore throats in the most private place a public venue has to offer.
^^^ Same goes for farting. If a person can’t cut loose and relieve their discomfort in the privacy and confines of a room that was designed expressly for that purpose (a washroom), for fear of offending the sensibilities of someone outside the room, then I think we have a problem with certain people being a bit too dainty and easily offended.
