A huge shout out to the woman who comes to Chocolate Lake beach every Sunday morning to clean up after a night of partying by local teens. When I saw her this morning, hunched over and picking up bits of broken glass, bottles and godknowswhatelse, she wasn’t angry, bitter or pissed off at the world. She does this so the kids who come to use the beach later in the day don’t end up stepping on glass and cutting themselves. And more impressive yet, due to the lack of Sunday buses, she walks down but takes a taxi home when done. In response to my “Thank you!” she simply replied, “My pleasure!” You’re a true community samaritan: Halifax needs more like you! Thank you! —Early Morning Sunday Swimmer

That is truly great! Now, to thank her for her kindness maybe the afternoon families can have a donation bucket going to pay her cab fare… you could give it to her when you see her Sunday mornings… of course the drunken teens should chip in but like THAT’S gonna happen!
hey rosie, still on the lam^^
Yeah… >sigh<. One step forward and two steps back...
