Why doesn’t the Dingle get the respect it deserves? Every other mother fucking structure in Halifax has it’s own wiki page. The Dingle has the been in the hearts and minds of every individual in this city for the last several decades. Somehow, it’s this new generation of internet users that shits all over the idea of what the Dingle represents, Canada’s own Statue of Liberty. Can one of you wiki-holics get to work on that? For both reality and the internet’s long lasting legacy of the greater municipal city of Halifax.

  1. Want to know the best thing about wiki pages?
Anyone can create/edit them. There isn’t a fucking wiki page because people keep pushing the responsibility on everyone else (a la you). How about taking some initiative, signing up, and creating one? You seem to know quite a bit about it.

  2. and no, I won’t. I had to google the fucking thing just to know what you were talking about. I don’t even know where this dingle place is.
and can we skip the obvious dingle-berry jokes please?

  3. Maybe because the dingle never served a purpose. Yes its a beautiful sight, many of us got laid up there etc…. but…

It was never used in defense of the country, it was never used as a prison, a place of worship, a centre of commerce or politics… it’s a pile of bricks and mortor that some old dude gave to the city for shits and giggles. Now… just go there, get your Pinky’s and enjoy the palce being not so over-run as it is and get on with your life.

  4. I like how underused the area is. It’s a convenient place of solitude, unlike Point Pleasant Park.

  5. and as an added bonus you can gaze longingly across at the North West Arm and see some beautiful homes, with the exception of that ultra new futuristic pile of glass and concrete shit-pile that was designed by Lloyd Wright when he was known as Lloyd Wrong

  6. The only purpose it’s ever served is for high school kids to hide in and get drunk on the weekends.

Or at least, that’s the only purpose I ever had for it.

  7. Hey Jim, I did that too once! Only we left quickly, in a dizzying state of fear and panic after these 3-foor high, evil little ghouls appeared from behind the trees and started jumping out across the path we were walking along and creeping along next to us.

  8. I volunteered there once for an environmental thing for kids… it was run out of that tiny little church on the property. What’s really scary is that HRM funding of the site is next to non-existent and they function off of donations.

  9. Look at all you guys reminiscing about all the great times you had at the Dingle, yet the wiki page is yet to be created. Pussies.
