Just because I clean your room doesn’t mean you need to go out of your way to leave me the biggest mess possible. And by the way, to the girl today who whispered to her friends that I must be poor because I clean rooms..actually, I probably get paid more than you do. Sorry, that I’m putting myself through university and can’t afford to have a glamorous, minimum wage job at the mall.

“Room Attendant”? That’s the term now? Huh.
Shame on you for reminding me of another horrendous Britney Spears song.
Anyways, don’t be ashamed of the job you have. At least you have a job and aren’t giving up – this reminds me of another thread; I have the utmost respect for people that work ‘menial’ jobs. And for the pathetic slobs that expect everyone to clean up their messes – at least they have to live with being human cyclones. That untidyness is going to catch up with them sooner or later and it won’t be pretty.
I agree with the OP. It seems when some people go out to a hotel or bar or restaurant they think it’s an invitiation to become pigs.
When I travel I put garbage in the garbage, clean up any spills I make and put the dirty towels/facecloths in the tub. A little courtesy goes a long way.
Room attendants do make more than mall employees. It lacks glamour, but you’ll be the one laughing in the end, all the way to the bank.
Hold your head up.
Room Attendant = Here to pick up after you
Slave = Here to pick up after you for no pay
Nope, you’re not a slave, OP.
Yep after all if we didn’t make those giant messes OP here would be out of a job 😛
People who do that should be aware that people who clean rooms have X amount of time to clean each room. Best to be a grownup and act like one.
Kay you must be single.
The Sheraton group allows 13 minutes a room. The president was on a CBC TV show a few years back where a lowly paid worker was prez for a day and the prez did housekeeping for a day under the eye of the department head. Sure made him realise what had to be done in 13 minutes. Tough job cleaning up after messy people at a Sheraton.
Heh, when I was in Montreal for almost a month in December, I was holed up by the company in a marriott residence inn. I went out of my way to ensure the room was cleaner than my apartment here. I felt bad for the folks that had to clean the room. They had so little to do in the main part of the room, the bathroom stayed sparkling clean. Great trade-off, as far as I was concerned.
