I can easily foresee the defence policies of The Boy King leading to an upsurge of crippled servicemen caused by obsolescent equipment and growth in PTSD by sending our troops into 3rd World shitholes under the sort of bizzaroworld ROEs dreamed up by well fed bureaucrats in New York(in other words – traditional Canadian Peacekeeping). But, yeah, this current batch of pricks need to be sent packing. I just don’t have any faith in the abilities of the other party to do right by veterans or servicemen.

but yeah, I like the boy king. would have preferred he ripen for another 5-10 years before before thrown in the pot, but imo, we are at crisis stage. he should have a decent ‘machine’ behind him and around him. and he seems a decent human being. that has to count for something. harper is not a human being. he is some kind of pod replacement.

Well yes, such benefits may well be deterring some veterans from actively participating in vocational aspects of the program and the labour force but it seems to me that this is an empirical question. In other words, how many are, in fact, deterred and how many are not? Are there no hard numbers? Are they based on rigorous research?
There is of course the vague middle ground, that of PTSD. How will those suffering from it be determined? At the vey least one would hope for some professional input here. But my point remains: Either the veterans are or they are not deterred by financial benefits from actively participating in the program and the labour force. To paint Harper (or Fantino) as an ogre in favour of “kicking a guy when he’s down” seems unhelpful at best and unnecessarily inflammatory at worst.
