ok, I get it, Halifax will never have their sidewalks taken care of in the winter. We’ll never get the treatment that Dartmouth gets with snow removal. Fine, whatever. But maybe, just maybe can we see if there’s any way possible that we could just get a couple of those little tractors putting salt down? It doesn’t even have to be after a storm, it can be whenever, like today, or tomorrow. There’s been enough thawing and freezing that some sidewalks bear closer resemblance to a hockey rink than to any sort of passable route.

Really? Have you been in Dartmouth at ALL this winter? We had to get crampons just to take the pup out for walks
Dartmouth gets better treatment with sidewalk clearing? Gee, I must’ve imagined sliding on ice, taking an extra ten minutes for a usually fifteen minute walk due to being extra careful so I wouldn’t fall, or, buying those grips to put on my boots. What an active imagination I have.
Dartmouth gets snow clearing, but the salt is lacking. The sidewalks in Halifax end up better because people take pride in their own shovelling work.
Of course, bus stop clearing is horrid no matter what side of the harbour you’re on.
I live in Dartmouth, and they have never done my sidewalk. I salt the sidewalk, but I still almost slip on a daily basis!
