Wanna know your power? Wanna shake up the country? Get out and vote! Every time you don’t vote or you spoil your ballot, you’re giving up—you’re saying I don’t care. Ever heard the old saying “Bad politicians are elected by good people who don’t vote”? —TJ

  1. Spoiling a ballot isn’t saying “I don’t care” it’s saying “I choose none of these candidates.”

The beauty of democracy is that you don’t HAVE to choose what’s presented to you!

  2. Point taken. To be honest, I really don’t know what the impact (theoretical or actual) of a spoiled ballot is. What I mean in this case is that if you’re not happy with the current leadership, a non-vote or a spoiled ballot isn’t doing anything to help change it. One theory is that the Cons strategy is to try to keep the youth disengaged – it works to their benefit. Even if you don’t like the alternatives, a vote against the Cons send a strong message. http://www.contrarian.ca has a good piece on strategic voting.

  3. Democracy will die with the people who believe in it.

This generation will not be fooled. The gig is up. The cops can take their guns and shove them up their asses.

We will not be your slaves any longer. The time is near.
