To that prick today on Almond street by royal bank who mouthed the words “asshole” while i was driving and didnt let him cross the street right where he wanted to cross. USE A CROSSWALK, and at least if you want to jay walk dont get pissy when people dont let you cross.

P.S i hope you got hit by the guy behind me while you were busy shaking your fist and swearing at me.

  1. oh and “k” if any curb to curb is a unmarked crosswalk as you say, is the diagonal curb to curb a crosswalk?

  2. its not me saying that its a crosswalk. its the law saying so.
    and no, diagonally doesnt count.

as for 15 feet past the intersection, thats the jaywalkers problem.

  3. Yeah, it would be good if he were killed then he would totally learn to cross the street better. I just stop my car sometimes to let people cross, even if they are jaywalking. It’s like I have all the time in the world, well several extra seconds anyway.

  4. Ya stop your car so the guy behind you so the 16 year old behind you who doesnt know what is going on goes around you and smokes the stupid fucker, bet you would like to witness that.

  5. I can’t tell how many people are supposed to be behind me at this imaginary crosswalk. Maybe you should just slow down.

Here’s why you’re an idiot that SHOULD NOT be driving a vehicle. By stopping in the middle of traffic, you are endangering everyone, including the lazy piece of shit you’re stopping for. Chances are the person driving behind you isn’t expecting you to stop and is probably driving too close. What happens next? He/she rams you in the rear and sends your car plowing over the stupid jaywalker. If that doesn’t happen, chances are the idiot behind you will drive *around* you and hit the person crossing. I’ve seen this almost happen and I’m sure glad the pedestrian was at least smart enough to stop and look around, because she would’ve flown fifteen feet.

Whenever someone decides to stop in the middle of traffic to let someone cross where they’re not supposed to, I make sure to lay on the horn until they start moving again.

  7. I know it’s so crazy, its like you are expecting everyone to be able to stop their car when something unexpected happens on a busy street.

  8. electric mayhem i think the point is that there are marked crosswalks for pedestrians to use…there are also the curb to curb crossings.

crossing anywhere else in my opinion amounts to jaywalking. yes a person should operate their vehicle in a safe and controllable manner. however…if we can reduce the number of unexpected happenings(ie stopping for a jaywalking street-crosser) we will all be better off. dont you agree?

  9. Its time the city seriously start handing out Jaywalking tickets. In addition, so that it doesn’t overly affect the police on their beat throughout the city, give meter maids the power to hand out jaywalking tickets.

I know this will sound bad, but I feel no sadness when I hear about pedestrians getting killed here because a lot of the time they are as much to blame as the driver may be. I’ve been all over the world, pedestrians in Halifax are spoiled and have a sense of entitlement which endangers everyone. I’m not saying there are bad drivers out there because there are, but its time the city start addressing self centered jaywalkers. In addition, insurance companies should start going after those pedestrians that cause accidents as a result of their jaywalking behavior … because it DOES happen!!!!

  10. ^ you’d be pretty hard pressed to get the guy who walked into the street to give you their insurance information after you get rear ended from braking to avoid them.
