WTF! Another rap concert cancelled. I don’t know how they keep expecting us to buy these tickets when these promoters clearly don’t have their shit together. One would think that the most basic of things you would check before booking an American artist for a show in Canada would be to MAKE SURE HE CAN CROSS THE FUCKING BORDER! I’m so FUCKING SICK of every damn show being cancelled. I bought tickets to the Busta Rhymes show TWICE and twice it got cancelled. It’s not the money, it’s not much and I’ll get it back. It just sucks to get excited for something and then it gets cancelled last minute. Like living in Atlantic Canada as a young person isn’t lame enough! Fuck this, I’m moving to Boston. —Frustrated Rap Fan

1. OP – try calling the Q Rant line – they may appreciate this bitch about as much as we do.

2. Wow, Nice Goin’ Protester 2, nice work with the copy and paste. This is no place for such a delicate psyche like yours – don’t let our spectacular razor wit slash your jello ass on the way out.

3. maybe, just maybe, it’s because no one in their right mind likes this shit, that they are trying to call music. fuck, i can do better with a bunch of howling dogs and screeching kids of 2 years of age. and the lyrics, where the fuck are they. just a bunch of no talent fucking idiots, up on a stage, rambling on, about sweet fuck all.
if you want to call that music o.p., then you are more brain dead, than some of the others that bitch here.

4. profester 2, or what the fuck ever. i just bumped you again, and like i told you last night. play nice with us, and we’ll let you stay. be an asshole douche, and boom, you are gone, again. the power in the dark side is awesome dude/dudette.

5. You know me…always in the holiday spirit!!

Thanks for changing the avatar suckster!

6. This is a valid bitch… I don’t get why ya’ll are making fun of the OP for liking rap, or saying he’s going to move. It doesn’t really have anything to do with what artist is coming here, the OP is saying the promoters need to get their shit together. Seriously, what kind of promoter doesn’t make sure they can actually get the artist across the border? This happens all the time here… the shows are always screwed up for one reason or another.

7. 100% valid bitch…but the second he mentioned rap music you know he was getting mocked.
Promoters here aren’t professional and should have all their I’s dotted and T’s crossed before they start selling tickets. But moving is a bit much…I would just take several road trips a year to NY & Boston to see concerts. Like Rock the bells…see everyone at once. EPIC

8. I’ve helped to organize a lot of concerts, and sometimes the artist doesn’t know he can’t cross the border until he gets there. And paperwork takes 14 days… that’s no good when the show is in 8hrs. We lost a drummer once because of that. It’s also the job of the band’s manager… not just the promoter. Depends.

But it is a valid bitch, fo’ sho’.

Oldhand 2, eh? I remember the first album, it sucked too. Electric bugaloo doesn’t seem much better. Meh.

9. Promoters don’t want to foot any bills, thus that’s why you buy tickets in advance….they use that money to try and secure the artist. Again, they failed. Good luck getting a full refund. Always charge your tickets to credit card so that you get 100% refunded without hassle.

10. WOW I agree with the OP but I’m more than a little put off by some of these coments from regulars whom I usually enjoy reading … There’s a lot more to rap than your narrow minded points of view have determined. I for one am definately not a fan of this particular act, but for the love of God expand your mind a bit and respect peoples musical tastes. I’m almost beginning to agree with whoever that douche is that keeps copying and pasting in protest against you guys for comments like above.

11. gee, profester 2, who died and made you king or queen shit. as to new posters coming here, there are tons. and why not, we are the drawing crowd. yes, old suckster and the merry gang of perverts. we are here, and will remain so, you on the other hand. your i.p. is going to be flagged, and anything coming from it, will get knocked right the fuck out of here. i it even lets you make a new phoney name.tata, and oh, have a nice day, we are, just laughing at you moronic antics.

12. and i really think maybe, the coast should add a new catagory, just for assholes like profester 2, call it,” being a douchebag”.

13. Life is great! busy, busy (taking a quick brain break since it’s Thursday – Coast Day!), meeting lots of new peeps at the office, laughing to myself at the eggheads who I’m currently babysitting and really enjoying being with the boy-toy.

Missing Halisucks already though. Lack of food and city amenities is going to kill me. Don’t go changin’ the city on me, k? I want it in it’s same crazy small town backwardness with big city aspirations when I get back there.

14. If he/she would just stop being a spambot I wouldn’t care if they posted their grievances with Nice Goin’ Fat et al. To each their own opinion. But, copy/paste attacking The Coast is really very annoying. You’re ruining my awesome Thursday, protestor! The Easter Bunny came to my desk this morning and everything. STOP RUINING EARLY EASTER!

15. heh, ralmn: I give you a month before you start rolling your eyes when you hear the word “students.”

haha.

Sometimes I wonder how some of them manage to get themselves up and dressed properly in the morning.

Also: most people are ignoring oldhandjob, bird, now. He’ll get bored eventually when his narcissistic ego isn’t stimulated on here anymore and slink off into the night. Don’t worry!

16. “Like living in Atlantic Canada as a young person isn’t lame enough! Fuck this, I’m moving to Boston”

I have this image of this pasty white Spryfield boy laying down some mad beats in the middle of the combat zone.

Enjoy Beantown.

17. Keep it up you old old uptight fuckwads, you’re just driving the young people out of this city. This was just the straw that broke the camels back for me. Being a young person here, if you’re not a student and decided to join the work force can be very frustrating. Especially if you’re more of an urban music fan. Suckster, I’d bet my life savings that you’ve never taken the time to listen to a rap song (listened to, not just heard) in full, much less a whole album. What’s on the radio and TV is not an accurate representation of all of rap/hip hop. That’s just the modern day minstrel show that suburban white people eat right up, that exists not because there is a lack of talented artists who want to make powerful, enlightened, artistic music, but because rich white guys in suits who work for large corporate entities want to protect said entities interests. Go listen to a Mos Def or Lupe Faisco or even a Jay-Z or Kanye album and tell me they don’t talk about important relevent issues that effect a lot of people. A lot of people whose voices wouldn’t be heard had hip hop never came along. They do not “ramble on about sweet fuck all” as you put it. Some of them do, yes. There’s no talent hacks in every genre and many of them are popular. Your life really must suck if you’re that ignorant and closed minded.
I just find being my age and having my interests you don’t fit in anywhere. I really feel like there’s no where for people with my interests to go. I don’t want to party with the teenagers at the dome and I don’t like the 30 something Irish pub scene. So I’m moving! You wonder why all the kids who grow up here fucking leave, there’s nothing here for us, and when we speak up about it we’re mocked by old tight asses like yourselves. Go listen to Journey and fuck off.

18. I can never listen to Journey without the paralyzing fear that when the song ends my life will just fade to black. Fuck dat – I’m gonna need some freakin ‘ closure.

19. Real Chick:

That’s the problem though, I don’t want to have to drive 11 hours to Boston or 15 hours to MTL every time I wanna see a show. We’re so far away from everything here, I’m just sick of it. It’s not the only reason I want to move, but it is big for me, I’m in my mid twenties now (gawd) and I want to enjoy them, and I’m just not doing that here. I really enjoy big concerts and I’ve taken trips in the past where by the time you get there you’re too exhausted to enjoy the show, I literally collapsed at Bluesfest in Ottawa, I was tired from the 18 hour drive. It’s hard when you invest so much in one night, I’d rather be able to have that kind of thing in my own back yard. I might enjoy Halifax more if I lived downtown instead of North End Dartmouth but for the price of rent there I’d rather live in a legitimate city.

20. Urgh not journey, that one song has been ruined for me by too many college campuses and family guy, same with closing time.

21. Good point NGF. And Tommy if you feel like you’re out of place in this city then maybe you should think about moving to Montreal or T.O…but when I weigh the good and bad ….I guess I would rather be here. When there’s an act I really want to see then I make it a 4 day trip and enjoy myself. But at the same time I’m pregnant and go to bed at 9:30 on Saturday nights….and I used to love Eminem and Jay Z….and even little Wayne (who I can barely understand but love the beats)….but now loud music is overwhelming.

22. Promoters should look into it I think, but nobody’s perfect.

Don’t put words into bird’s beak, oldhand. They don’t like that. And that’s why you don’t get any women asking you out or wanting to fuck you, you sad little mook.

23. yeah, well I’m sure jonno would like to be able to watch decent soccer in this city too…
but he can’t because there’s no demand for it…
so…. guess what? he either saves to go see a game elsewhere… or doesn’t see it.

DUH.

if you want to have a lot of rap ‘in your back yard’ (*shudder*) then move [closer] to a rap mecca…

having an average age of 39 (I think someone said that recently) here likely means they’re leaning more to andrea bocelli than your rap ‘music’.

*quotes used purposefully.

24. Nice Goin Foot:

Actually it is because they assured him and the fans that he could cross the border. They obtained the proper permits, it’s either their fault for not following proper procedures or border services fault for misleading them. Same thing happened with Obie Trice, promoter claim they were assured that he could enter the country. Either they are lying or were lied to. This artist has performed all over the world.

25. another thing…..

http://site.despair.com/blog/wp-content/up…

And when has there ever been actual child pornography on this site?
That fucktard is just wasting time and making stuff up now.
mod 4 blocked the ips and e-mails prior which eventually made that douche give up.
Sure you can spawn another and create a new account to re-post but that takes time and having to do that for every post would be a great deterrent.

26. I did not know that. Then again a lot of cases cannot be decided until the person is actually at the POE. You can have all the paperwork and assurances from one person/group but the ultimate decision goes to the Immigration and/or Customs’ official(s).

It’s interesting; Obie couldn’t get in, nor the Game. But Snoop, Method Man, Redman, Busta and others have gotten in. Same with GZA and Raekwon.

27. And I just had to come back to say this:

I know I’m not going to convert any of you into rap fans, nor am I trying to, but why can’t you just like what you like? Why trash something you don’t like and assert that only idiots would enjoy it? I don’t enjoy the music they play at any of the bars/clubs here for the most part, so I just don’t go. I don’t chastise other people for having different tastes.
I’m not a modern art fan but I’m not going to say that whoever likes to go to art galleries is a moron or that I could do better with a paint brush and bucket of feces. They get it, I don’t. How is that so hard to understand?
Why can’t you acknowledge that there are plenty of people who enjoy things that you don’t, and it sucks for them when they see acts from their parents generation having more success here than current acts that they enjoy and identify with?
Coming from a 24 year old hip hop fan (you know, us rowdy, violent, anti-social criminal types) GROW THE FUCK UP!

28. “And that’s why you don’t get any women asking you out or wanting to fuck you, you sad little mook.

Posted by New Goin’ Foot on April 21, 2011 at 1:55 PM “

“So it is true.”

Posted by Nice Goin’ Protester 11 on April 21, 2011 at 2:01 PM

29. Exactly Foot, it just sucks not knowing, it’s hit or miss. I’d rather live on the other side of that border where I don’t have to worry about it.
And please no one mention free health care. I work in payroll and look at American’s paychecks and Canadian’s pay checks every day. This shit ain’t free and it ain’t all that great. If you have a job in the states you pay for your own coverage and still come away with a lot more than someone living in Nova Scotia making the same amount of money. We are taxed to death here. Not to mention everything’s cheaper and they don’t give .15 on every dollar they spend to the government. Canada really isn’t all it’s cracked up to be and the media makes the States seem way crazier/scarier than it is. People in New York City were friendly as can be, the women were a lot less prudish. My room mate recently took a trip to Boston and reported the same. Just FYI.
I don’t wanna sound like I’m trashing Canada I’m just not as Anti-American as most of us. I think it’d be a lot more fun to live there, of course that depends where. I’d rather live here than East Bumblefuck, Virginia or Nowhere, Ohio. But they have some amazing cities and aren’t all a bunch of self centered snobs as many Canadians would have you believe.

30. Hay donk, I went all the way to toronto for NKOTB.

And I WOULD be seeing NKOTBSB if wedding schedules were a week early. *lesigh*

31. halifax can’t be all things to all people, that’s why the boy left. i like them crooked vultures. be well young thomas^^

32. AND ONE MORE THING!! I’m sorry guys I know I’m long winded. But when people say that they themselves could do better than XYZ platinum selling artist whether it be rap or pop or rock.
THAN WHY AREN’T YOU THE ONE ON STAGE GETTING PAID MILLIONS TO DO WHAT YOU LOVE. YOU MUST BE IN THE WRONG BUSINESS!
Hip hop has a term for you it’s “hater”

33. A performer with his/her baggy pants hanging off his/her butt crack, stupid hand gestures, bling that would sizzle your eyeballs to liquid and a reversed ball cap (as he/she spews out shit about money and whores) ain’t my idea of music.

34. Ellen Page is 24 years old – born February 21 1987

You are absolutely crazy Protestor – I thought when you posted her picture you had messed up with the link.

35. Please TTFN like some of the tripe you listen to is music … I must disagree with your rap assessment.

Any genre of music can be criticised the same way …

36. Z, agreed. That’s why I’m leaving. Did you really have to put quotations around the word “music”?
The real question is how long a “city” (note my obnoxiousness) with such a huge student population which somehow still has an average age of 38.8 (it was me who posted that) can survive. What’s this place gonna look like in 20 years if all the young people get fed up and leave? Enjoy, geezers.

37. I should be a music snob. I’ve been to Jazz School, played with some of the Canadian biggies in jazz etc.
However, I was born into a musical family, where my dad and mom played country, my friends loved metal, and my older brother turned me onto jazz and funk, soul, reggae etc.
Music is music. I know it’s the bitch board, and we should take all easy shots at things mentioned here, but there is good and bad in every style of music. Music makes my life better, and I include hip hop as one of the genres that I’m grateful for.

Sometimes I think people take the Easy Way in complaining about obvious things, and use slogans more than reasoned/critical thinking.

Just my 2 cents, before I go dig up a dead baby from the Titanic graveyard and dry hump the ashes.

38. Fine, TTFN, I don’t enjoy scream metal either but I have better things to do with my time than criticize what other people like. A couple thousand ppls bought tickets to this show to see this rapper who yes, has baggy jeans, tattoos and uses hand gestures, (who has some interesting things to say, BTW if you take the time to listen) and were disappointed that it got canceled. He does fit your stereotype somewhat but not every hip hop artist does.

39. and Z, people bought tickets to the show, enough that it wasn’t canceled earlier due to poor sales. So that makes a demand

DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHH.
Fuckoff

40. thanks! BYE!!

coming from Ontario, I’m fully aware this isn’t much of a ‘city’ with regards to size….

and yes, musical tastes differ…. unfortunately.
that’s how rebecca black can become this idiotic fucking big name over the worst song ever written…. I mean, how is narrating your morning and regurgitating 1st grade lessons = music?

but some out there love her…
beiber too… like WTF.

anyways… with all the old folk here… and rap/hip hop being so much younger relative to the other musical tastes the older people prefer… you get what you get.
you want an artist here so bad? fucking line one up.
what’s stopping you?
didn’t they say when you were a kid… you can do anything?!???
get off your ass and start lining up a biggy-slim-g-eminemma-kanye-foxified POS show.

41. “that’s how rebecca black can become this idiotic fucking big name over the worst song ever written..” She did not become popular becasue the song is good … in fact over 2 million people dislike it on YouTube she became popular becasue she is a farce!

I like ya Zzz but that answer you just gave … made you seem very annoying (God knows I have my moments).

Um … yeah.

42. Rebecca Black’s fame is mostly due to how terrible her song/video is. And the pre-teen/teen girls <3 the Biebs 'cuz he's a pretty boy. I have no problem with rap/hip-hop as a genre (I fucking love Public Enemy and Run DMC, for example), but I absolutely loathe how self-centered it's become over the last decade or so.

43. The rapper is Game, of Compton California, formerly signed to 50 Cent’s G Unit Records. Most noted for hits such as “This is How We Do” and “Hate it or Love it” both featuring 50 Cent and more recently “My Life” with Lil Wayne. He definitely falls under the Gangsta Rap sub genre.

There is a demand here for hip hop, the Redman and Method Man show at the Palace had that place the most packed I’ve ever seen it.
The Nas show at the Cunard Centre was also a huge turnout, even Naughty By Nature (of early 1990s fame) packed the Paragon or whatever that place is called now (used to be the marquee).
Halifax is also home to Canada’s biggest rapper, Classified, aside from Drake who makes pop/RnB music with a touch of hip hop.
The demand isn’t the problem.

44. whatever you wanna call it, it’s still a bunch of fucking jerking half assed morons, who think that they are an artist of some sort. yeah okay, you like it fine, you listen to it. i should not have to hear this shit from 4 blocks away, while you drive your little shit box car down the road either.
but to case in hand, oldhandjob, is back again i see, hope it enjoys making new accounts everytime it gets dropped. we might just as well not give it any more attention, and pretend it never existed. now about those dead babies, i have a black mass saturday night, and need 6, more, wheelie, you up for some grave robbing?

45. Sucks,

When the backstreet boys came here, multiple times, I could hear them from my parent’s house in Dartmouth. People drive around blasting all kinds of shitty music so I’ll blast my rap music out of my 2009 Subaru that I bought brand fucking new all I want. I don’t drive a shit box but thanks, wasn’t sure if you were a stereotyping douche bag, now I know. I don’t wanna hear Kiss or Paul McCartney necessarily, but I respect those who purchase a ticket’s pay to have a good time, and wish them well, it’s just not my bag.

Jay-Z has 13 fucking grammies. He’s not an artist? You are stupid. Poets have been around for centuries, why is it that when they do it over a beat and talk about certain things that they are “a bunch of fucking jerking half assed morons, who think that they are an artist of some sort” They are artists and art is subjective and just because you don’t like it or what it represents doesn’t make that any less true.
I should write another bitch about people like you who have to trash and discredit everything they don’t like. Other people exist too and surprise they have different tastes than you. Why do hip hop fans constantly have to defend it? Change the station if you don’t like it and leave us alone.

46. Yeah … People need to take a look at the history of Rock and Roll and many other genres before they rag on this one. It’s just what’s popular now, and as such it’s popular to criticize it.

47. I would try moving to Halifax before you move to Boston, Tommy… if you can only afford to live in the north end of Dartmouth, I don’t think you’ll be able to afford Boston. It’s one of the most expensive cities in America to live in. I believe parking on average is about $500 per month. If I’m not mistaken, that’s probably close to what you would pay for just rent in the north end of Dartmouth. I too used to live in Dartmouth, Cole Harbour more so, and moved to Halifax last April and although it’s still not the most ideal city on the planet, it’s a billion times better than Dartmouth, in my opinion anyway. But I do hunger for more as well!

48. yeah tommy, guess that makes you a big person, with a little fucked up brain then. drive your scubiedoodoo where eveer you want to, and play your shit as loud as you can. someday, you might just meet mr. baseball bat, to your windows, from some not loving crap fan.just because you are a dummy, doesn’t mean that antone or everyone, has to hear that blaring fuckingcrap, you are trying to say is music. music calms, that shit incites.

49. I’m an idiot because I like loud rap music? Na man I’m actually an intelligent hard working respectful guy. You probably don’t talk to people like that in the real world, if you did your face would be the one meeting Mr. Baseball bat. You are such a fuckin hypocrite threatening to smash out my windows because you don’t like my music. And you accuse of hip hop of inciting violence? Man you are confused. Some rap/hip hop calms, there are hundreds of songs I can kick back and unwind to that I find very relaxing, and you might too if you’d pull your head out of your ass and give it a fair listen. Ever heard the songs “Dear Mama” or “Changes” by 2Pac? How bout “Project Windows” or “Life’s a Bitch” by Nas? Tell me that’s not uplifting and calming music.
“Music calms, that shit incites” That shows just how little you know about music. That’s like saying only dramas are actual films, and comedies, thrillers and action movies are not. Basically you’re saying that music that YOU don’t find calming music.
Not all music has to calm. I agree with you, I like calm music that I can relax to over the more upbeat amp’d up stuff but sometimes I like that other stuff too. I don’t enjoy Korn very much but they do make music, and it ain’t the calming sort.
Why can’t you just say “I don’t like it and would rather not hear it. I prefer Mozart”?
Your generalizations show that you have zero idea about what you are talking about. If you took the time to listen to a variety of hip hop and gave it a non bias ear you might actually like some of it. Even if you don’t you still would have to acknowledge that writing good songs, whatever the genre takes a ton of talent dedication and artistry. Sure hip hop has its no talent bullshit acts, just like every genre of music. The ignorant shit is popular with the young’ns because they are stupider than ever. Rap doesn’t create that it simply reflects that. It reflects a problem in our society. If we were raising our kids right they wouldn’t identify with ignorance. You probably blame your mirror for being ugly. Go fuck yourself

50. melectric
I live in Dartmouth because I want to, I grew up here and it’s not that I can’t afford to live in Halifax, I just don’t feel it’s worth it. I would sell my car if I moved, or bring someone with me as a roomate. If I didn’t have a car payment I could afford to live pretty much anywhere in HRM on my own, but I don’t like living alone so I have a good friend of mine as a roommate. All my friends also live in my neighborhood. I don’t wanna live in Halifax, I don’t really like it, and it’s more than I want to pay. Also all my friends would be on the other side of the bridge. I’d gladly pay that much and leave my friends to live in Montreal though.

I wouldn’t need a car if I lived in a bigger city with better transit systems. It also costs way less to fly in the US. The main reason I bought my car was for road trips, so I wouldn’t need it if all the sudden plane tickets were much cheaper. So I’m working on finding a job there, I still have a full year on my apt lease, but yesterday I just decided I’m thru bitching about this place, I’m just gonna get outta here. I tried to flee to Montreal at 18 but my lack of job skills kinda forced me back home. Now that I’m older and have more job skills I’m gonna try it again, maybe Montreal, Toronto, Boston, NY, Vancouver, anywhere but here basically.
Yeah Halifax is a better place to live in than Dartmouth but not $600 bucks a month better. For that price I’ll move to another city that suits me better.

51. The last time The Met staged “Die Walkure” a bunch of hard core Wagner fans got out of hand and re-enacted the “Ride of the Valkyries” sequence from Apocalypse Now. Took out half of China Town they did. Damned anti-social, 60 year old tuxedo wearing punks thinking they’re so tough.
http://collider.com/wp-content/uploads/apo…

52. Tommy, you’re right on the money with your points about music.
Try not to take Suckers seriously though. A lot of it is character.

Suckers, meet you at the back of the children’s hospital with NGF and PK. We’ll pick up some bebehs.

53. Thanks wheelip, maybe you’re starting to see why it may be better for me to leave this place. It’s not enough that many Haligonians don’t share my tastes (that’s ok, I don’t like siding with the masses anyways) but when they attack them and label you as stupid for having those interests, well that’s another story.
Like I said, no wonder his life sucks, he’s got his head up his ass. Shame on me for letting him get me riled up.

54. lol Ivan seems to be the comedic relief for those of us who like to have heated debates. I appreciated ur quip Ivan, even if the irony was lost on some of these ppls.

55. you are correct thomas…that’s why he goes by many names, i prefer uncle vanya or admiral

56. To each their own. It has to have some merit to be as popular as it is.

I’ll stick to some sappy Zamfir tune with lovely flashbacks of handsome satyrs with bad afros daintily prancing around my living room ceiling on their platform hooves.

57. It’s all good Tommy. I’ve been known to engage in heated debates from time to time and ,like you, I get pissed at myself for taking a subject too seriously. One of the benefits of being a cranky old prick is you don’t even have to pretend to be broad minded any more.
So while I may never appreciate the artistic subtleties of any record produced after Darkness on the Edge of Town, I will apologize for giving the impression that I view rap fans with contempt. Big country – room for us all. Rawk!

58. Thanks TTFN, at least some of us are reasonable around here. I mean I can get down to music from the 70s 80s, 60s whatever. I’m a big Bob Marley and Stevie Wonder fan, for example. I enjoy the occasional Beatles track. I just don’t see how people can hear something and say “that’s not music” why can’t they just say “turn that shit off, I don’t like it” I do it all the time. A lotta people like what’s on c100 for example. That sappy “i love you so much I’m so lonely without you Im nothing without you” shit. I prefer hip hop because it more accurately portrays (and yes, maybe has influenced) my outlook on life. My ex gf loved the radio, I didn’t but I’m not an idiot, I can see why people identify with it. Just not my cup of tea.
I know that peoples conceptions of hip hop are not without merit. Much of it is ignorant and violent and glorifies violence and ignorance, but that goes for all music. Much of what’s on the airwaves today, not just rap, glorifies materialism and hedonism. That’s a reflection of the materialistic, sexist, hedonistic world/society we live in. This shit wouldn’t get play if people weren’t supporting it. Music isn’t the problem, we are.
There are plenty of artists who pour their heart and soul into rap music and it can be quite beautiful. Listen to Kanye West’s “Good Morning” or “Dark Fantasy” and tell me it’s not immaculately produced/executed, strong emotion evoking beautiful music. Maybe you’ll disagree with me, that’s what makes it art.
I love how people want to attack rap when it had nothing to do with the bitch. The bitch was about a show being canceled due to shitty planning. I wonder how the responses would have been had I not mentioned that it was a hip hop show that got canceled. smh

59. I think the best part is that his posts get deleted after they get reported.
Time well spent!

Hey Tommy, there are dooshes everywhere you go. It’s the Human Condition to eb one one, at some point in your life. Don’t let it get under your skin. Dooshes don’t deserve your time.
Like this current one. It works oh-so-hard to get under the skin of a couple people here, but like all trolls, it is anonymous and cowardly, and is full of hot air and lies.

One of the things I love about hiphop(I LOVELOVELOVE!!! OMG! P.E., Ice Cube, NWA etc) because of the inventive lyrics and use of samples of great music. I played bass on a friend’s hiphop/rap CD this fall. It was a lot of fun!

“on’t let the buggers get you down”
– some dude

60. Exactly Ivan,
I just could never picture myself saying “you are stupid because you have different music tastes than me” in so many words. To each their own.

To the copy and paste fanatic, It’s ok, buddy, I’m grown, I can handle my own, dealt with plenty of assholes in the real world so one suckster online is no problem. I suggest you invest your energy in something more productive.

61. Actually, I got tired of the ol’ 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s stuff years ago – I’d rather club myself to death with a fire hydrant than listen to anything by the fucking Eagles or Kiss. I like a lot of current British indie bands for the same reason you like rap – it expresses this part of my life in a way that’s hard to describe – you just feel it – I’ve got my youngest to thank for that. When we went to London in the early 2000s, she dragged me to all these cool band venues, introduced me to NME magazine and I’ve been hooked since then. Still I’m an old broad so perhaps I’m just reacting to rap the same way my mom did when I blasted my warped Beatle LPs.

62. Thank you wheelip, if I ever come to one of the summits I’m gonna blast my music and see if SUCKSTER is a man of his word and tries to break my windows LOL. fuckin telephone tough guy.

63. Exactly TT, people act like they were never young. I’m sure my grandparents weren’t too fond of Hendrix n Joplin but my Dad n his brothers were. More things change the more they stat the same. We have to realize that if we’re going to survive we’re going to have to engage in open conversation and not just block each other out. Good on you for broadening your horizons.
Older folks who are always shitting on the youth deserve to get their pensions cut when my generation is in power. Do you not realize we are the future? Don’t piss us off, it’s our time.

64. I’ve been working in the entertainment business for a long time, or I consider almost 30 years to be a long time.
THe one thing that musicians in, say a rock band or blues or Country that I do not like have in common with those who’s music I do enjoy…Is they are actual musicians. They know how to read music. They know how to write it. They usually know how to play at least 1 musical instrument & they can sing a song on stage with out it being a lip sync show. they understand tempo & beat, plus they know they aren’t the same thing. (they remember the words to their songs)
They sound at least close to what they sound like on a DVD or other format.

You can’t say that about most c-rap artists.
I have had the misfortune to have to set up more shows than I care to remember & of the shows that have played here…these people are rarely on time. They are not professional , not even a tiny little bit. When an opening act comes in after we set them up & 2 guys of a 4 guy group show up for sound check, we do the check & set the levels. When 4 guys show up to do the show…that shitty sound isn’t in anyway the fault of the equipment, nor is it the fault of the techs.
We know what we’re doing, I can truely say that not once when I’ve had to work a c-rap show has any of the performers been anything but a bunch of assholes.
Asshole being the most useful thing I can think of to label them…Musicians, may be what some of you fans of c-rap maybe confusing these guys for. But I & the guy’s I work with, all know better than to call them that !

You want to call them entertainers, I can go along with that, there are many entertainers out there who can’t sing either.

Not picking on your so called music choices, but having a guy drag the needle back & forth on a record player…doesn’t mean he’s playing a musical instrument !

65. ===I’ve been working in the entertainment business for a long time===

So did Tiny Tim.

===is they are actual musicians===

Similar complaint by those “in the know” whenever a new style of music comes out. Charlie Parker was called a shitty player when he was playing, by self-appointed adjudicators of good/bad.
This isn’t bebop, but it is a newer style of music that has used what’s come before it as material, as bebop did.

The rest of your bullshit is anecdotal balogna.
I think PK wants me to tell you to go fuck yourself.

Go fuck yourself.

===these people===

lols

66. tommyjules. when did i say that I was going to smash your windows. boy, you have to learn how to fucking read. maybe all that loud shit, you have rattling around in your skull makes you see and hear things that aren’t really there. i said someday, someone would do it. but you know what, i hope it is sooner, just so i can say,TOLD YOU”. you listen to, or scuse me, try to hear whatever you wish, i don’t wish to hear that shit. and i’m damn sure, over half of your neighbors don’t either. when you start blasting that crap. go to each door within earshot, and ask them if they like it.get ready for a big surprise answer. but being braindead from all that loverly sound, you probly won’t hear them, anyway. and btw, if you have kids under 16 in your car, or home, and you have it that loud, you can be charged with a form of child abuse. like the woman in jersey, 2 or so years back.

67. I went on a little deleting spree. Sorry, if I got yours by accident smurf. TRA LA LA DELETE DELETE DELETE. Spammy mcspammer, back to the abyss with you.

68. STFU More. I’m generally a “one love” type of person … but I fucking hate you (and I hope you hate me too). Sorry man.

“having a guy drag the needle back & forth on a record player…doesn’t mean he’s playing a musical instrument !” … I dare saying “building a beat” is a lot harder than it looks. If one were to define musicians solely by the instrument they play … then singers aren’t musicians … etc

People really take music too seriously. To know the good you must know the bad. I love listening to top 40 and lost of other obscure shit you know why, because I would like to stay current, I would love to stay “in touch” with what is popular, I would like to move with the world rather than against it. Imma use my Goddess as an example. I LOVE BRITNEY (not a secret, y’all know my love) but I will be the first to say that she’s not a singer, and not a great musician by any stretch, but her music makes me move and dance, and feel better. If I were asked who amazing musicians are I wouldn’t even put Britney on the list. Writing a rhyme and laying a beat does take skill. With any genre there are good rappers and bad rappers … I’m speaking of the good rappers here. Take Kanye for example. I know I’ll prob. take heat for this one, but I think he’s a good rapper, very inventive and I dare say he won’t be forgotten in the future. He recently played Coachella …and y’all know that when Kanye hit the stage all the hipster babies took off their boat shoes and glow in the dark jewellery and started dancing.

I’m very in love with music and I take it in all it’s forms. I learned a long time ago that hating one genre or being contrary to “popular music” does nothing but makes you defensive, your nerves shot, and closed minded. At around age 15 I used to be “against” any type of screaming/heavy stuff … then I found Brody and that all changed.

OPEN YOUR MINDS.

69. That was meant for MORE-ON!

What you making in your cave now … huh … salsa salsa. Wanker.

Um, that was the nasty side of Donk … now I feel like a bully. I think this outburst is overflow from all those times I’ve held my virtual tongue.

… he can take a little heat.

70. the turn table and sampler/sequencer (MPC) are definitely instruments. They are difficult to play and master, have you ever tried it? have any of you critics who claim it takes no talent or effort ever tried to rap or write a rap? or make a beat? freestyle? then fuck off.
And so what if they dont play instruments or sing. Not all of us can afford piano lessons or choir growing up, we find other musical yes MUSICAL, ways to express ourselves. I acknowledge that many rappers are probably assholes. although i suspect that the ones you’ve dealt with are amateurs i’ve never heard of. care to drop some names? They are artists/entertainers. Dont get me wrong I dont like a lot of the stuff out these days but hip hop is great music and i really dont care who says otherwise, ive seen some great shows and seen how music is made and made it myself! and done shows myself in which i conducted myself professionally. IT TAKES TALENT, DEDICATION, HARD WORK, SUPREME CONFIDENCE/SELF ESTEEM, GUTS, AND YES TRUE MUSICIANSHIP TO MAKE IT IN THE RAP BUSINESS!!!!! YOU’D PROBABLY ALL GET EATEN ALIVE! A MILLION MOTHERFUCKERS CAN SLAM OUT THREE CHORDS ON A FUCKING POS GUITAR AND SCREAM 5 WORDS INTO A MIC FOR 5 MINUTES TOO!!!!! You’ll notice that’s the first time I’ve attacked or criticized any genre of music. the point is you can’t convince me that rap doesnt take talent and hard work because i’ve fucking done it. i’ve also seen many many people try and fail. people who think they have what it takes and dont. hip hop is in high demand around here and because of people like you who stereotype us all on here it is constantly stifled and pigeon holed. Jesus fucking christ I’m mad now. Mention the words hip hop in this fucking town you might as well go play in traffic. good night fellas

71. ===Not picking on your so called music choices===

He said, doing just that.
Doosh!

Hey Bird. Sorry we tracked that turd in on one of our shoes/wheels. You do yeoman’s work!
All so we can make poopoo jokes and rag on Sebastian.
We lurves you!
Come on, everyone! Sing with me!!
(ahem)
Give me a B!
You get the point. Thanks for filtering our sandbox for kitty turds.

72. ohhhh something my father told me a longgg time ago … people who hate on rap/hip hop/soul etc … prob can’t dance … true story.

73. “Not picking on your so called music choices, but having a guy drag the needle back & forth on a record player…doesn’t mean he’s playing a musical instrument !”

As a DJ who still uses turntables and vinyl I can agree to this. BUT – you should check out people like Q-Bert, Kid Koala, Dopey and Kintaro.

74. Thanks wheeliep! I’m cleaning the online litterbox just like I do in real life! Only because if I let it build up like in real life there are no special cleaning faeries that come along to do the job for me…

75. i am aging as we speak but i can always groove donkaloo…if i start to sing, time to go home

76. ..dude slag “old school” rock ..80’s electro-pop/new wave whatever..but don’t bring up a LAMEASS outfit like journey for fuck sakes..

77. “I’d rather be Spammy mcspammer than Kiddieporn Mcpusher like you.”

That’s a libelous statement if there ever was one. I was so disgusted and violated that I called the authorities immediately; the RCMP and the HRPD and the cyber police. They said they were going to back-trace it.

78. Hey Fat-
I called McGruff the Crime Dog.
He said he was going to take a bite out of him. After he finished having sex with a dead baby, of course.

And notice how much white space Trolly left. The crazier he gets, the more space he leaves.
Makes me lol.

79. Tommy- I agree with pretty much everything you’ve been saying. You’re well spoken and make great points.

As for dealing with Life Sucks, it’s better if you just skip over his posts. The majority of them are impossible to follow, and he basically just comes on here to try and get any female to meet up with him.

But, my main reason for posting tonight was to ask you/tell you that if you like Nas, you should get the album he did with Damien Marley… it’s fantastic. The song “Patience” is probably one of the greatest, realest songs ever written.

80. I saw McGruff earlier, wheelie. He was chowing down on the carcasses of the up-baptized babies I was tossing out to the fire ants. Then the fucker asked me for bus fare! Can you believe that shit?

81. p.f., that hurt, and i thought we was chums. oh well, guess if there is a chance to stab old ifey, someone will take it. but the fact remains, in what i said.

82. Hey Tommy, don’t think for a second that that dickhead speaks of all us older folk. I am getting very close to the mid century mark and on April 10th I saw Ice Cube and April 11th I saw April Wine. I listened to Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, Queen, The Clash growing up as well as early Rap pioneers like Kurtis Blow, Sugar Hill Gang and guys like LL Cool J. So I totally see what you’re saying. The concert was a cross Canada tour because they were supposed to stop here too. Rock On, Rap On or do whatever the fuck you want to do, I got your back!

83. Paingirl, you posted a picture of wallace and gromit and now you are my hero.

I admire tommyjules passion for his particular taste of that genre of music I would have gave up defending my own long time ago.

I do want to comment on one thing, the rap music blurring out of cars really loudly, I hate that, but I also hate Rock music being blurred out really loudly, that can’t be compared to concerts though, I wouldn’t complain about listening to concerts, but not being able to concentrate on my own driving because all I can hear is thump thump thump is rather inconsiderate.

Dance music to me is considerably worse than rap, but thats just my taste.

84. ===that is a threat===

(yawns)
Are you actually going to *do* something or not?
You keep threatening to put it in, but all you’re doing is dry humping. Didn’t you say you already told the cops, Nancy Drew, and Flavor Flav about all the horrible things going on here?
If you actually did tell “the authorities”, they would laugh at you until the end of shift, then they would clock out and have the next shift laugh at you.
You’re so impotent.
Jesus, *slip it in*. You have us all primed and ready to be penetrated with your righteousness, and you’re softer than al dente spaegatz.

Slip.
It.
In.

And for corn’s sake, don’t stop putting those 3 meter long spaces in your missives. They are a great representation of the massive boner you’re not getting.
lulz

===that is a threat===
(yawns again)
>humpahumpahumpa<
Nothing, dude. Soft.

85. it must be getting tired, only on two threads now. and by the by asshole, this is an adult page, i believe. so, if you can’t play the game, take your tiny little pecker, and go home.
i bet your mom, where ever, and whover she.it is, would be proud of you. wait til the boys with nets, come to take you for a ride. am i baiting you, yep. that i am, i love fucking with your little pea sized brain. and this by the way, is what rap turns you into.
do i need to say anymore about it. all that thumping and booming noise, fries what little brains you have. thanks, saddest truth, you have made my point, better than i could ever explain here.
and that is the fucking honest truth. i just bet, that if you have any friends, they all are as stunned as you. you poor sick little fuck, i take pity on you. jesus said,” let tey that are without sin, cast the first stone”. i just threw you a fucking huge boulder.

86. You’re ruining this for everyone SaddestTruth… if PK and NGF act like assholes, that’s on them. But, what is spamming the comment section and making it annoying for everyone else getting you? If you’re serious about getting them in trouble (which I don’t think you can, since all you do is egg them on), just report the two of them and get on with it. Obviously, there’s nothing you can do since these two are not pedophiles, they’re talking shit to piss you off, and there’s such thing as freedom of speech. But seriously, what are you getting from ruining this for everyone else? Some of us actually comment on the bitch…

87. Me too Tim, me too…… it’s obvious someone has been off their psychotropics just a couple of hours too long.

88. ok, admitting that it’s bugging you is not very ‘winning!’ of you PF…
it’s not like there’s going to be many of us even on today.
king of spam can do as he wishes… it’s just a shame that they wouldn’t even like to take part rather than just wasting his/he own time…

makes no difference to me. that’s what the middle-click auto-scroll is for….
or the scroll bar on the right.
I just wished I were a code-monkey for the coast…
a multitude of options would then be presented.
Of course, while I’m wishing, I might as well be rich and remoting in from the Maldives while I’m at it.

89. Horatio, I be a (grumpy) early riser yo … I usually post before the hoodlums come on at 7am on weekdays!

In other news, your profile picture is insulting to my sensibilities.

90. Thanks PF, I got that Nas/Damian Marley album the day it came out. I hear they’re working on a sequel.

See, I can understand where Sucks is coming from. There are a lot of obnoxious pricks who blare their bass out of their cars way too loud. That doesn’t mean everyone who listens to that genre of music is stupid, brain dead, or an asshole. Just like I won’t generalize all 80 year old men to be complete and utter dirtbags just because the suckster is. The guy decides to attack people over their tastes, like really? That’s some middle school shit man. I just feel like I have to defend myself, I wouldn’t let someone talk to me like that in real life so I’m not about to let some troll on this board talk to me like that either. I think if you appreciate music and understand how difficult it is to even get a song released, let alone an album, let alone having an actual music career, then you should have an appreciation for all music. I’ll never listen to Lady Gaga but I can see the talent and star power she has. I think Kelis and Fergie are 2 of biggest no talent hacks music may have ever seen, but I won’t go as far as to say that all those who make or listen to that type of music are idiots.
Anyways, I’m kickin a dead horse at this point. Sucks if I ever see you in person I GUARAN FUCKING TEE you won’t talk down to me like that, not for long anyway.

91. Thanks, bluenoser, appreciate that. It’s not like I want or expect everyone to like my music. It would just be nice if I wasn’t attacked and insulted for liking it.
I would never actually get mad over an internet argument, but he’s not arguing he’s attacking. That makes me mad. The funny thing he’s probably like 15 to 20 years older than me at the least and clearly still belongs on a playground somewhere. Then he has the nerve to accuse my generation, my friends, my fellow hip hop heads of being brain dead, JUST BECAUSE WE LIKE A CERTAIN MUSIC! Suckster I promise you that I’m going to be more successful in life that you have been or ever will be and my life damn sure won’t suck when I’m old because I have more sense than to block out anything that’s outside of my immediate comfort zone. Enjoy the rest of your shitty life.

92. my oh my, am i ever some scared. fuck you asshole, and whatever cocktail of dope you are on too. speaking of trolls, you don’t debate much, you just argue. you have a real sense of self worth hey. maybe you and this brain dead douchebag poster should get together. talk down to you, you have to get up from your knees first fool. anyway, it was fun rattling your chain. now back to serious business.
this creep is in so many ways, violation i.p. standards that i.m surprised the cops haven’t paid it a visit yet. spamming and tying up web bandwidth is a pretty inane childish thing. and i think this cretin must be all of 12 years old. only someone with a mentality of ne that age, would keep it up this long. maybe h/it peed the bed, and his local diddler got mad at him/it, and was made to do this shit. you just never know. anyway sucker, fill your boots, we’ll just scroll on past your foolish bull shit. don’t like pic donk, you’ll absolutely love the next one tomight then. tata.

93. Donk,
Can’t access Youtube video at work but Kelis just makes my ears hurt and makes me feel like I’m getting dumber by the second. I also think she has shitty character as a person, but I don’t know her personally, that’s just based on what I read in the news. To each their own. Her milkshake couldn’t get me anywhere near her yard. In fact I’d run in the other direction.

94. Wow sucks, wow. cocktail of dope.. I’m actually at work, sober as a judge making about 45 bucks an hour. Your stereotypes are fucking lame, as are you. You call me boy again we’re gonna have some real problems.

95. Donk what about your yummy Caper-made milkshake? You got boys knocking down your fences? Cuz if not, me thinks “THE SITUATION” needs to be a-remedied.

96. And of course you’re not scared sucks, you’re behind your computer screen. That’s why you’re not scared to talk to people like that. I bet you’re a fucking pussy in real life.

97. Oddly enough, tommy, the suckster doesn’t miss a beat when you encounter him in person…. HAHA.

98. tommyboy, you are 1 in a million, what i don’t know or even care to. you keep your music, i’ll keep mine. and scared, nah, just bored with fucking pulling your chain. you might be a nice person in real life, but your attitude sucks. and threats don’t help you out any mor than this idiot poster asshole. so, in the end, who wins, you nope. me, nope. the fool that was watching does. i love egging it on, and it worked for awhile, it’s gone now, maybe the cops have it? who cares. and by the way, 45 bucks an hour to waste time, not on my clock.tata, it has been, whatever, cue m.m., or the dingbat.

99. I do think it’s cool Lady Gaga got her name from a Queen song and I think the person who is referring to Kelis and her ‘milkshakes’ maybe meaning the other one (Keilis) who did back -up on the ODB classic Baby I got Your Money.

Life Sucks once again you have proven to be the biggest douchebag on here, let Tommy enjoy his music and if he wants to get pissed off when a show he’s looking forward to gets canceled so be it. Life doesn’t suck, life goes on…

From the Bible, right?
🙂

102. you put capers in your milkshakes donkaloo? i like them on smoked salmon and wouldn’t they get stuck in the straw^^

103. omg this motherfucker REALLY just had the nerve to say my attitude sucks. Coming from a guy who goes by the name of life sucks. Soemone who thinks that it’s acceptable for people to damage other’s property (smash out the windows in my brand new car) because they don’t like hearing their music. Someone who thinks anyone who appreciates hip hop is an idiot. SOMEONE WHO TROLLS FUCKING MESSAGE BOARDS ALL DAY IN BETWEEN HIS ONLINE JERKOFF SESSIONS FUCKING WITH PEOPLE HE’S NEVER MET. Yeah, my attitude is real shitty. Go fucking kill yourself, seriously.

104. AGREED Tommy… I’m glad someone is as irritated with the shit that spews from that moron’s mouth as I am. Half the time he can’t follow the conversations properly and spouts off shit that’s completely unrelated.

105. Tommy I applaud your comments, but no matter what is said, he’ll never figure it out, too stupid/stubborn/retarded perhaps? I just wish his circle (jerk) of friends would stop patting him on the back for the nonsense he spouts.

I originally joined this site to keep up on things back in Halifax but there is way to much anger from some people over petty differences and disagreements. People come on here to vent and occasionally find solutions to their bitches not to get pissed on by every anonymous asshole with a computer. I have never had a challenge with anyone except for one on here and will not be bullied by a puffed up poser, nor should anyone else. Can You Dig It?

106. and you both are douches and deserve each other. don’t like what i post, then fucking pass on by. and you think you are hotshit with a new car, fuck. and when did i say that i would smash any windows in it? i think you ought to get your self righteous head out of your ass. and pf, i will disregard anything to you in future. thought you were better than that, but now we know the truth the sad truth. and i hope numbnuts keeps blogging here all week, just to get you pissed.
what a great bunch of assholes you are turning out to be. fuck you and the asses that your asses came in on. yeah tommy, you have an attitude, too much bravado in it. just listen to your shit, troll when you want, and mind your fucking business. you don’t know me, and i certainly don’t want to know you, or your ilk. ivan, will talk to you later.

107. ‘Don’t like what I post then pass on by’ or words to that effect. Fuck me, is this not one of those pot calling the kettle black issues? What a fucking idiot! Yup never had a problem with anyone, in fact, most have been uber supportive, especially in the fight to bring back Beep (see icon, lol). Only you LS, perhaps you’re Sebastian?Montreal Man? but you’re so schizophrenic or off the meds that day that you don’t even know you’re doing it?

108. You didn’t threaten to smash my windows out, no, but you said or implied that it would be cool if someone did and that they would be somehow justified in doing it because I play my music too loud.
I’m defending myself against your attacks on the music and culture that I love and that helped me find my way into who I am today. At no point did I attack you on a personal level until you started crossing lines. You’re the one who attacked me along with millions of hip hop fans across the globe, calling us brain dead, morons an a bunch of other names. You just have to get the last word in don’t you? again please go kill yourself right as soon possible, the world would be better without people like you.

109. Donker I can’t see that photo 🙁 Oh well. At least el Comandante has our weekend off to the right start.

110. I just popped in the new Fabolous mixtape, first line on it sums up my feelings about LS pretty well I couldn’t resist posting it.

“I’m old enough to know better, young enough to not give a fuck
rather hold my head high n die, than live and duck
if you’re cool being taken down or given up, your lifestyle’s a blowjob, the way your livin’ sucks”

111. life sucks disclaimer.

in the future, whoever, you all stick to your own brand of whatever, i will stick to mine. and in the event that the two shall clash, you go your way, i’ll go mine.
that being said, you rag on what the fuck you all want, and i will rag on what i want to. you start to insult me by my posting to an o.b., then you get it back.if you can’t handle the flack from said retort, then you are quite welcome to go someplace else.
any bitcher here, now and in future, will be scrutinized by myself, and you will have to earn my respect. if you cannot abide by these terms, then i would suggest going offline or somewhere else.
as to threats and threatening remarks made against myself, i will pass on it this time, but in future, backup will have to be made.
i realize this might be too hard for some to get the gist of, but it boils down to this. you live your fucking lives, and i’ll live mine, reporting when annd how i want to. and you may also do the same.
be it known, that in future, there will be some people on this site, that i will not bother to even acknowledge, that they are alive or even here. if you can see the light f this, then there is absolutely no fucking hope for you. or in simple terms. KEEP YOUR FUCKING MOUTH OFF ME, AND I’LL KEEP MINE OFF YOU, GET IT.

end of disclaimer.

112. wow………………

This guy just never ceases to amaze me.

THAT’S EXACTLY ALL I’VE BEEN TRYING TO COMMUNICATE TO YOU SINCE YESTERDAY YOU UNBELIEVABLY THICK DENSE PERSON.
You like what you like I like what I like. So we agree finally, I guess. It’s one thing to rag on something but when you say “no one in their right mind” would like something and call people names like stupid or brain dead, expect people to defend themselves. I never threatened you either for the record, I just opined that you wouldn’t talk to me like this in person, and if you did that I wouldn’t tolerate it. I have a feeling you’ll be meeting with Mr. baseball bat long before I will. Bye LS.

113. CAN’T WE JUST ALL GET ALONG?!? (sobbing and daintily dabbing at my tears with a lace-edged hankie.)

We all have tastes, we all have opinions – I’ve met LS and he’s a great dude – try not to take remarks made here so personally.

114. well, well, sounds to me like i have just been threatened. hmmmm how shall i respond, nah, i won’t waste the energy. and yes, good bye. thank fuck.

115. Fuck that. This so called man personally insulted me, talked down to me and now wants to play victim. I never threatened anyone I just have a feeling that sooner or later someone is going to put their hands on him if he acts this way when he interacts with people in the real world. The guy called me an idiot, brain dead and says I have a bad attitude, all because I stand up for myself when he invited himself into my bitch to call me stupid for having a certain musical taste. You’re only fooling yourself sucks, I suggest if we ever meet in person you take a quite different tone with me, it would be for the better.

116. dude his comments pissed me off but I defend to my death his right to say what he wants. We tolerate it so don’t worry about it man. I’m not gonna ruin this for everyone just because I don’t like what some people post here. Life Sucks is definitely a snotty little POS as far as I’m concerned but he has the right to exist and be a POS. This ain’t China. Seriously man what difference does it make to you what gets said on here? If you can’t take the heat get the hell out the kitchen.

117. It’s comments from ignorant dolts like LoSer than remind me just how fucking backwards Nova Scotians can be. A lot more told him how they felt about him than stuck up for him. TTFN, he may be a nice guy but from reading his posts here we’ll never know and THAT’S too bad…

118. Tommy-
You know what it is to him.
He’s been trolling and posting 3 foot white spaces in his “posts” in an attempt to disrupt the running of things here.
When I joined a year or so ago, he was here then, doing the exact same thing. Back then he claimed people were breaking the law, said he called the police.
He’s a Classic Troll. His purpose is to disrupt. If everyone here was all sweet and nice, he would be the troll saying the opposite of everyone else.
He’s been canned a whack of times over the last few days and is getting tired of it. He’s about to disappear for a year again, just watch.

Speaking personally, I’ve met many of the people here, Suckers included. His online persona is not exactly who he is in real life. Online he’s a lot of bluster and swearing, and seems an insufferable tit(sorry, Gary). To some extent my online wheeliep persona is a front, though this is pretty much who I am. Try and not let the extreme personalities here bug you on a personal level. It’s just a message board, and not much should be taken seriously. Suckers even said he was yanking your chain. I don’t agree with anything he said about music, but I know if you come to the next summit, you won’t hate him. He was the first to come up to me at Summit1 and say “Who am I?” I knew it was him and we laughed our asses off.

Grain of salt, and water off a duck’s back.
Especially with the troll. It hates when people don’t take it seriously.
It stopped using the vast space of his previous posts to try and appear reasonable to you. Call bullshit on it, and watch it foam at the mouth again!

Have a great weekend, Dude!
I saw P.E. here in 89, IceT just after. P.E. was frigging awesome. IceT was still pretty good, but seeing Chuck and the guys, and the S1Ws march on stage was the shit!

119. ====I came here for interesting discussion ====

Oh, how we all lol’d at that.
A year ago you did the same thing. You are a troll.

====I am not the one ruining it for everybody.====

Don’t flatter yourself.
You merely ruined it for many.
See you next year!

120. Hey Tom, I was just listening to my favorite ‘Rap Stars in Jail’ album and could totally see LS doing the DMX song ‘Party’ (Up in Here) tune. An angry song for an angry man. lol. PK and NGF I don’t know what you did to that guy, but man is he pissed, hope you sort that out. Enjoy the long weekend all. Have a donair for me.

121. Just had a thought Tommy.
I play music for a living. I’ve played many styles. I played bass on a couple local spoken word/hip hop CDs this year. As a bassist I find the majority of my music “touchstones” or references to be soul, like James Brown(“Funky Drummer”, most sampled piece of music EVER), jazz, reggae(without U-Roy, Jamaican MC, there would probably be no rap- check out “Wear You To the Ball”, “Chalice In the Palace” etc on Youtube for pure awesomeness) and other styles.
Even with no live musicians, the producer is rearranging elements, as a musician would do with their instrument, only they are using pre-existing material. To me it is analygous to painting vs photography(I do photography as well).
With painting you start with a blank canvas and create all elements yourself, and with photography you use and reorganize pre-existing elements to make something new. Whenever my musician friends crap on hiphop, I remind them of this.

Not to mention, Public Enemy has been using a live band for a number of years, as have have been many rap acts.

I play some music that people like to shit on and be judgemental about. Like you, I let my love for music decide how I feel about it.
I have this cd by Disposible Heroes of Hiphopcrisy/William S Burroughs(beat poet) called “Spare Ass Annie”. It came out in the 90s, but shows what is possible if musicians and artists let go of preconceptions and just MAKE MUSIC.

I’m outie!

122. say what you want people, do what you want. i couldn’t care less. if someone gets all bent the fuck out of shape, because of words that someone wrote, that goes against their idea of anything, well, that’s too damn bad.
old saying,” can’t take the heat, then stay out of kitchen”, applies here as well. that being said, tommy, if you wanna listen to whatever, please feel free to do so, and let me be free to rag you or anyone else on it. this is the whole idea behind this bitchboard. to get differingopions expressed. if you wanna get all he-man, on someone, then this is not the place for you or anyone else with a sensitive attitude.
that brings me to the douchebag asshole, that keeps fucking around. if you get a visit from someone, with a giant dildo, well, you’ll probly love it. to anyone else that is a desenter of life sucks. take me as i am, or just don’t bother to talk to me, in any form. we arenot always what we seem to be on here. and some people are just fucking losers, who can’t fathom any fucking thing, except maybe, their small inmature little lives.tommy, you have fun here, we normally do, and have a good laugh at the o.p., in this case, too much shit has gotten printed that should never have been here, this means you oldblowandhandjob. anyway, it was a bitof fun yanking chains, but i have more important things to do. gotta get the bunny tree ready for sunday, my little bugaboo is making another appearence. and yes, i said bunny tree. tata.

123. I am glad he can not play “the Game”. Tatts allover yer face, I think people will profile ya’ll. Also Rap is Ignorant all around (well Gangsta” anyways.

124. me gots me own goodies. and speaking which, i have to go collect some more up country. we’e taking the bikes for a run today, and probly spend rest of evening working on one of the 2 dodge charger rt’s we have stored there. so won’t be back til late tonight.
hope you and yours, and most of the rest of this gang, have a good one too. and hope the other idiot, doesn’t piss y’all off’n much.

125. Problem is … you don’t read what people say, and/or fail to/start to derive your own meaning from the words. It usually ends up in a flurry of unpunctuated unimpressive attempted rhetoric that prove tedious to read and frankly not worth the time and mental bandwidth.

If you’re really ok with people not caring about your opinion, then why do you post … just to take up space it seems … meh whatever.

126. Donk, you just put in to words exactly how I feel. My way of saying it sounded a little more cruel and not as detailed of an explanation. But, you hit it right on the nail.

127. Donk…I don’t actually hate anyone, dislike yeah, hate not so much.
I’ve had to see these fucking bums attempt to “play” their so called shit in more than one rehearsal & more than one show…You try playing a REAL musical instrument in a band on stage & only coming close to hitting the same cord or note , you’re not going to have a fan base…unless of course like your self the fan(s) in question are tone deaf.
You can ask to have that checked, at your next hearing test !
But even so, Like I said enjoy your entertainment…just stop being an asshole who can’t tell the difference between an entertainment act (AKA Crap) & music.

I also have a question for you… any idea where they get the ‘tuner’ for those turntables ? ? ? ? L O L
Thanks

128. He sure is!
And thinks only groups with “real instruments” are “good”.
Doofus.

129. sorry to interject but i really like those *let the bus back in* ads. props to the whomevers

130. wheelie and NGF are going to release an album in a little while. I’m going to be mixing house on the Technics while ol’ Wheelie strums the guitar and other instruments. We may get ol’ Suckers to even do some vocals and harmonica over a track or two.

131. Crazy thought here, but they could maybe just try not breaking the fucking law once in a while……

132. If only breaking the law was exclusively a hippity-hop activity…

Keith Richards on line 2!

Hey, Fat. I rock the bass guitar. If we’re going to work together, you need to know that.
And Sebastian plays the skin flute(he’s awesome at swallowing the music!)

133. tommy sounds like a top bloke actually and made me think twice before i judge rap music on face value. Well done.

134. Man, I would fucking love to see PE. Sadly, it probably won’t happen anytime soon.

135. PE show would be great Tron, I was upset I missed the Pete Rock performance last September in Halifax. Although I couldn’t lose too much sleep over it because I was going to NY to see that epic Jay-Z n Eminem show at Yankee Stadium. Did that Pete Rock show end up happening? Anyone catch it? Glad my rants were not completely in vain, Anglo. I’ll be the first to admit that there’s a lot of crap to sift through when it comes to rap/hip hop. Much of it complete sellout bullshit, but I really believe that applies to all music. Artistic/personal integrity is rare these days period, not just in hip hop. Another thing one has to realize is many rapper really aren’t rappers or artists, and they’ll be the first to tell you, they’re criminals laundering money through music. They don’t care about lyrics, artistry or anything but making (or washing) a quick buck. You can’t take that as an accurate representation of all of hip hop.
This creates a whole new legion of so called artists who just take the superficial side of the art form and run with it. Kinda like this Rebecca Black kid. She thought that a professional video and played out gimmicks in said video would make her a star over night (it did, but because it was so bad) She didn’t realize that there’s more to making good music and getting it out there to the masses than having a flashy, expensive video and a you tube account. She just identified with the superficial aspect of popular music, not with the more delicate emotional side of it. The problem is fans are getting used to this where we used to call bullshit.

136. yo tommy man, it is so sad and pathetic that people are so nearoow minded, man , like u wrote , to each his owm, i mean someone soon will bitch about metalic, or u ever may come next, great advice telling that dude to put his negative energy and time into something more productive, i have a close friend who is involved with making hip hop mucic here in hali, just cuz i am not into it as much as he, that would never affect my realtionship, but to so morons out there it would, we share skateboarding love in common, wow, there are so many people hiding behind there computers that really need to grow up, can u imagine what they’re girlfriend or wife would think, or even their friends would think of them if they ever read their posts, nuff said, much love all, including the haters, they need it mo. john ramone

137. lol I just relived this day in my mind reading all these posts, good post JR. I wonder if your friend would be interested in a jam session? I rap, and I dare say I’m pretty gosh darn good. There’s not too many hip hoppers in Hali, gotta network. Tell him add me on facebook or twitter if he’s interested. Tom Leger or @TommyJules902
