Chef de cuisine, enVie, 5775 Charles Street

You could call Lauren Marshall a Top Chef contestant. A vegan chef. A teacher. A holistic nutritional consultant. There are a lot of things that make her an incredibly creative force in Halifax’s food scene, but she’s not into labels. “What I love about what I do is that I just want to push a healthy lifestyle, it’s coming from me so if people follow me…I’m a brand,” she says. “But really I’m just trying to promote good living.” She says Top Chef taught her a lot, made for great connections and reminded her she’s a small piece of a big puzzle. As far as we’re concerned, she’s a corner piece and then some.
