When it says “dog on lead” put your dog on lead. I have my dog on lead and I am walking in the leaded part of the park for a reason. —Ruler

  1. AN ODD LOCUTION

The “leaded part of the park?”

Is Ruler a native English speaker? I initially thought there was lead to be found underground in a certain park of the park but then, by means of a conceptual leap, I twigged to his meaning. But why, one wonders, can one not use the “leashed part of the park”? Why does this also sound like an odd locution? Further reflection is required.

    A pleasure as always.

    Cheerio!

  2. I don’t think lead is good for pets. If you keep them on a leash, you’ll keep them away from the lead.

  3. useless and worse, dangerous. they TEACH your dog to pull and if your hand slips off the handle, that poor dog will be running forever with a clacking thing chasing him.
