The Halifax Farmers’ Market is truly the heart of this city. With the Christmas season quickly approaching (just over a month until Santa’s big night), instead of begrudgingly shopping in the usual consumer haunts, head on down to the courtyard in the Historic Keith’s Brewery (1496 Lower Water) for gift ideas created by local artisans, handmade decorations and specialty food items (think cider, apples, meat pies and preserves). The Halifax Farmers’ Market is extending its usual Saturday morning tradition to Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings; December 3- 5 and 10-12 the market will be open from 5-9pm.
