To the two assholes who come into my pub every single day at lunch and order a clubhouse with no tomato, no cheese, no coleslaw and no pickle and a coke…… GO FUCK YOURSELF. You see, I have to tip out which means it actually costs me money to serve you when you don’t tip. The two of you cost me $5.25 per week I hope you choke on your crust.

  1. Here we go again.WHY is this the customers problem? DO you go into a store for a box of tampons and expect to give the cashier 15% more than sticker price? No you don’t . What if there’s none on the shelf and the stockperson has to BRING them to you? Then do you give an extra 15%. I bet not. How your tipping system works is NOT the customers concern. If the menu advertises a meal for 10 bucks, then $10 is what I expect to pay.Seems like a shitty system to me, Sucks that you and the “tip” system feel that you are entitled to have your wages supplemented out of the customers pocket. I’d be looking for work elsewhere.

  2. these two should stop being such cheap fucks if you can afford to eat out everyday at work than you can afford to tip.Maybe they are from somewhere where 15% gratuity is included for your convenience so maybe they dont know they are not tipping(doubtful but maybe)I dont know how you could go to a place everyday have the same waitress serve you and never tip… id be double checking that sandwich before every bite

  3. So because I can afford to eat out I should have to tip?It is the employers that should not be so cheap. I am sure that at one time, tips were a bonus for a job well done. Now they are an excuse for the employer to make money and pay shitty wages. In return , the customer gets to shell out MORE money and get crabby assed self entitled servers who feel cheated if their half assed service doesn’t net them more money.I will gladly tip for good service, There’s lots of good servers out there; and have gone so far as to let management know; hey your food sucked but the service was great. I want my tip to go to the server not the kitchen

  4. Assuming that it is average service would you eat at the same place every day and tip zero % every day?…In the OP’s example I think these guys should be tipping unless the service and/or food sucks but then why go back every day?

  5. True, there is something making the customer return.Seems to me that the way the tipping system is set up is little more than another form of voluntary taxation. The System is set up to make customers feel guilty and be seen as cheapskates even though they have paid the advertised pricing. which is exactly the intent of the OPs post. Its unprofessional and greedy to EXPECT extra and then complain about it.You can bet your bottom dollar that if I know who and where the op worked I’d go sit in another section or switch pubs for fear I might not tip enough one day.Why should I tip? general answer: because its customary.why is it customary? answer: who knows. If indeed the OP is not making enough tips to cover the 5 bucks they “cost” her, its time to find a better place to work or switch trades.

  6. Why is it customary to tip?? Maybe they don’t tip because the server doesn’t deserve a tip?? I’m not saying that is the case, BUT if I don’t feel the server warrants a tip, I don’t tip…it’s not my obligation to tip people in the service industry!!

  7. Maybe they keep going back due to lack of options. If it costs her $5.25 a week to cover a %15 tip each week for 10 meals how much does each meal cost? I’m sure I could figure it out, but I am at work and as much as doing that would make me look busy as hell…I just don’t wanna….

  8. Elvis Q…I hope you only eat at fast food places….fuck. Cheap bastard…don’t try and to justifiy fucking cheap ass by saying you don’t tip for tampons.

  9. Yumyum; that’s right. I “clearly” stated that I never tip. Ever.Perhaps you can explain why we have to tip at a bar/pub etc but not at a fast food place.Learn to read

  10. A lot of good points, if they return to this restaurant they must enjoy the food and service enough. However, it is the customer’s choice to tip or not.I really don’t agree with this “tip-out” system. A tip is a little extra a customer gives the server, its a transaction between the customer and waiter.

  11. Elivis…as I said, you try to justify your actions, but really you are just cheap.Need me to explain that further??????

  12. Elivis…as I said, you try to justify your actions, but really you are just cheap.Need me to explain that further??????

  13. yumyum; as I said, learn to read. Maybe even past the first post where I was making an analogy.Perhaps even explain your position on why anyone should tip.Or- Keep trolling , which is what I expect you’ll do

  14. Can’t Smell the Salt even though i think the server would still be complain if they didnt have to i think the OPs bitch is about the small % they have to tip out to the kitchen even if the people they are serving dont tip them. Her bitch being that it is costing her 5.25 out of her pay not out of potential tips

  15. She’s bitching about a 50 cent tip each day from each of them. That on the one hand is a pretty small tip to not give, but on the other hand, not really much to bother bitching about.

  16. Elvis Q, you have obviously never worked a day in the food and beverage service industry in your life. Going to the Superstore can hardly be compared to dining out. Many of us get paid minimum wage and never get a raise or benefits. We rely on gratuities to LIVE. I know several people who work at grocery stores and they both have much higher wages and or benifits. Think about it, typically a good server will make 5 or more transactions with you during your meal. Plus, a good server is there waiting to provide you with whatever you may need to give you a pleasant dining experience. Then we have to clean up after your often times “messy ass”. Tipping is exactly what it is..being gratuitious for having someone provide you with what you won’t find at home or at a fast food place…your own personal butler for food and drinks! We also have to smile and be pleasant and friendly no matter how much of a moron you may be. So on top of that, sometimes we are also actors..so, if you still feel that you shouldn’t have to tip after all of that when you are dining out, you need your head checked! oh and if we all had your attitude “I’d be looking for work elsewhere” then you would be stuck for the rest of your life eating at fast food places and/or cooking at home!

  17. Christ, another one who can’t read. If you did, you’d see in an earlier post that I said I have no problem tipping for good service. I get alot of good service and I frequent the same places often. We could get into all the other jobs where you have to deal with customers, help them out, clean up their messes and do they get or expect tips? nope. What makes the food industry so special that tips are an entitlement? Oh that’s right, pressure from underpaid waitstaff. This would not work in any other industry: “Here you go, here’s your 4 new snow tires as advertised for $500, and btw we expect a tip on top of that, because we had to find out what you wanted, get it for you and bring your car back to you; even though we mark up our goods 1-200% our job doesn’t pay enough to live on, so in addition to paying for what you wanted, you have to pay our salary too”Again, the way the tipping system works is not the customers problem. It is not my job as the customer to ensure you can pay your bills. I LEFT the industry because of this and got a job that pays a decent wage. Maybe I sucked at waiting tables; its irrelevant. My work ethic is such that I do my job as best I can, and in that case, any tips were a BONUSMaybe if people stopped taking the jobs with wages based on tips, the system might change and offer a decent wage.

  18. Heres a tip: don’t expect to make a better living off of a job that has no training (unless you count “bussing tables” as training) or qualifications than people spend years in university or trade school.I tip. I know how the system works. But freaking out at the occasional bad tip just makes you look bad. And dumb, really.

  20. No the tipping rule only applies to certain restaurants. You don’t tip McDonalds, nor do you tip Pizza Hut, nor the food court at the mall. You do for Tim Hortons, which I STILL never understand but that’s another rant. That being said, you don’t tip Sobeys for removing the moldy shit and leaving good shit for you to pick from. Same with the butcher (although if I am tight with them I might give them a bottle of rum every now and again). I know other places get shitty pay. Think about this, gas attendants don’t make that much money, why not tip them on top of filling up your car? It costs as much a a decent meal anyhow so…You don’t pay a LOT of low paying occupations, it sucks for them, but if I tip them then I have nothing. Fuck em, they agreed to the wadge.
