The best advice my dad gave me about owning a car, was to never leave anything valuable in it. He said drug addicts (most of the smash and grab thieves) will see coins scattered in your car and even smash the window for a buck fifty. We know people steal so at least when they try, and get nothing, you can be satisfied that even though you have to pay to repair your window, they got NOTHING for their efforts! Last night I remembered that I left my new iPod in the car, hooked up to the stereo so I got up and went out to my car to get it. Most of us have had our cars broken into but at least I had the satisfaction that crime did not pay for my thief! Let’s ALL make an effort to do this so at least this losers to society GET NOTHING when they break into our cars. My new vehicle has one of those GPS things so there is no chance of them taking my vehicle for themselves, either!
It’s been going around in that area- I live on Allan and both my car, and my neighbors car, were broken into a month or so ago, same thing- back triangular window on the drivers side smashed, change and cds and stuff stolen…..happened to another couple of cars a few weeks before that on Monestary as well.of course the cops don’t DO anything about it…even though CLEARLY someone’s going up and down those streets on some sort of spree…
LaZy Metro Cops. I think we should get rid of the Metro cops everywhere, they are useless tools. Replace them with the RCMP. At least Metro cops should not be able to serve in or near the area they came from. Their inaction pisses me off big-time.
I was just shocked with how little they cared about my car- I called for both myself and my neighbor (same parking lot) after our cars got broken into, and they actually laughed when I said ‘I’ve neved done this before so I’m not sure if I’m supposed to make a report to you guys or touch anythign in the car or if you guys are going to come out and check it out”.clearly this isn’t an isolated thing, but they could care less- all it’d take, I think, is one or two patrols downt hat street to stop whatever juvinile idiot is doing it, but noooooo
