I’ve read lots of bitches and replies regarding smoking at Metro Transit bus terminals.

I’d like to add a thought: we can’t expect people to follow the “No smoking” directive when the transit drivers themselves are setting the example by stepping off their buses between runs and lighting up, many times directly under the signs.

I walked past the Mumford terminal and lost count of the smokers, drivers and riders both, puffing away. A couple of young pups had also sparked up a fattie steps away from a bus and the sweet aroma of 420 lingered for all to enjoy.

Clearly, the by-law is not working. It’s time to either station a dedicated enforecement officer at each terminal or just strike the by-law from the books. I doubt either will happen.

  1. Send this topic to the glue factory. Transit drivers smoke, passengers smoke, as long as it’s outside, it happens.

  2. So I’ve committed the ultimate sin: making an observation on a point that someone else considers moot. Enough with the snarky comments, then, if flogging a dead horse also has an expiry date.

  3. No, no. It’s not a point somebody finds moot. It’s a point EVERYBODY finds moots. Dead and buried.I agree – the dead horse metaphor is itself becoming a dead horse. But we little bitches come here to be little bitches, so you’ll just have to endure the snark until we feel like being over it.Consider it a life lesson.

  4. You’re right again Q… It IS Moops… And if I remember my history correctly, they invaded Spain back in the 7th or 9th century…

  5. Right Floyd, led to victory by their brave leader Costanza who saw the City of the Boy of Bubble fall into a lake of fire.Okay Quill, but maybe you need lessons in sarcasm and irony.
