That poor statue has been eclipsed by the movie of the same name (which as of Feb. 4th, has brought in $119,261,323, landing Ellen Page’s cute mug on the covers of Entertainment Weekly and Vanity Fair.) But this post is about the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences awards. Jill Barber, Joel Plaskett, Wintersleep, Skratch Bastid and Holy Fuck are all in the running (in the press release we received about local nominees, Skratch wasn’t listed but Holly Cole was. But this award is about national unity, so who’s going to quibble about geography. Anyway, congratulations to all the nominees–see you on April 6.
