I tried to buy gift certificates from your coffee shop and my card wouldn’t work, but when I went to hand you back the gift certificates, you told me to take them and come back later to pay, even though you’d never seen me before and had no reason to trust me. Heh… wow. As “nice” as this gesture was on behalf of said employee, I am sure their manager/establishment owner would certainly not agree with their extreme level of customer service…
yes… management types try to discourage ‘executive decisions by lowly minions’.
they also likely could have scraped the card number off the reader from the failed transactions and tracked you down through your bank anyways….
so really, they didn’t have to trust you, though it would have proved a bit of work on their part to hold you accountable.
***note, referring to ‘data scraping’ there….
not checking the reader for some imprint and physically scraping anything….
You 2 just ruined this perfectly nice bitch with your cynicism.
I meant to say Love…errrrrr.

BARKEEP: Sure, that will be $9.50
GIRL: wow… i must be drunk because that sounds like more than it should be…..
BARKEEP: You MUST be!
GIRL: Um…. I don’t have any money on me.. I assumed the guys would be buying me drinks tonight.
BARKEEP: Well, hey now don’t worry about it….. although you can make it up to me after the bar closes….
GIRL: You’re cute
heh heh…
if it wasn’t ruined before,
it is now. 🙂
Yeppers, that’s just a wee bit slimy 🙂
Thanks Jonno…thanks
Haha… I know you were chuckling aloud as your responded…….
