Let’s see, gasoline is going up on a weekly basis, home heating oil, water, food, electricity. The only thing not going up for the average Joe/Jane is wages. Meanwhile, the fat-cats get hefty 20% raises as the people eat shit. Is anyone getting sick of it yet? Guess not… —We the sheeple

  1. I’ve been sick of this shit since I hit the age of majority. Unless people intend to march to City Hall and Province House with pitchforks and torches, the people in charge will continue to hold us by the ankles and shake us down to the last nickel.

  2. yet you’ll probably won’t do anything to get yourself out of this situation…bitchin about one’s level in life is sad and pathetic

  3. I’ll hop on the bandwagon as well…

oh, I think we’re going to need a bigger wagon.
let me hire in some consultants to determine if a new, larger wagon is feasible….
we’ll conduct a study and fight with the gubment for more funding…

  4. OB, you wouldn’t happen to be a member of the military or RCMP? If so, you have a real nasty supprise coming.

PS, comparatively speaking, the Canadian economy isn’t in too bad of a shape.
Look at Europe & the Middle East, even our neighbours to the south and farther south.

  5. Speaking about ridiculous high prices, has anyone visited the Annapolis valley recently? I was there just for the day on Thursday (Dec. 31st) and the gas prices for regular gasoline was $1.74!!!!!!!!

I had planned to gas up when I got to Kentville as I was running late when I left the city, but when I got off the highway in Wolfville and saw the sign saying 1.74 I thought, maybe I can make it to Kentville and back to the city without gassing up, I still had a good half tank.

When I turned around to come home to Halifax at the end of the day, I got back on the highway at New Minas and noticed the Irving big stop sign was sporting the same 1.74 price!!! I am thankful our gas only went up to 1.17 here in metro on Friday.

Be ready though people, I suspect we may see the gas prices get a lot higher in the near future. Which of course translates out to higher prices on everything that is not produced locally and that we have to transport here with gas/transport trucks….

I was also reading a story about a wheat crisis lately, has anyone been following that story, it said that there was a 50 percent reduction in crop yield last year due to tempature fluctuations and flooding, and some type of disease or rot that is hurting the wheat. It said that wheat prices are rising out of control and there have been riots in some countries already about this, it is pushing the cost of bread and cereals out of reach for many people and resulting in other grains rising in price for example rice and corn. Im sure everyone has noticed the sharp rise in bread prices over the last few years most of the time it costs $3 a loaf on average. I refuse to pay higher prices for things and I wont buy them that is the only way I know to peacefully fight back, I was given a bread machine and now use it make bread faithfully, a bag of flour lasts a long time 😉 I also replaced alot of my flower beds with vegetables this past summer and the taste of my own vegetables was well worth it, not to mention the savings on things like tomatoes and cucumbers.

  6. or you could scrap the bread machine and just make fresh, simple soda bread in the oven.
    mmmmm
dipped with opah! sauce, can’t go wrong.

  7. CHR, you’re correct. The riots are in Africa where bread prices went up 10 or 20 fold. Some Russian billionare bought up hundres of millions in wheat futures world wide, that’s (along with the floods and droughts) what has set the world prices. Some countries have also cut the subsidies for the poor.

Eat the rich, put the corrupt polititions up against the wall.
    viva la revolucion

  8. unless you have 10 kids by 5 or 6 differents dads, you are fucked o.p., it is geared to keep the poor, poor. and if you think you had it hard last year, well booby, just wait til til about march, when every fucking thing is going way up. look out for gas, home fuel, and power rates. phones are starting on the 11th. of this month thru alian. and also watch for new taxes, they are a fun thing to raise, so that we can get new stadiums, arenas and other shit, that the normal person will never, or very seldom visit.

  9. Its far worse in the United States – no middle class – the rich and corporation run the country next to everything made in China -the roads are crap and made thing even worse they do not have any health coverage other than the pre existing BS from the insurance companies

  10. Those hefty fat cats milk the system for all it’s worth. Those MBAs, etc truly pay for themselves.

  11. Are you one of those people rallying against guns? If so you have no right to complain now.
Now that government is no longer afraid of the people they can pretty well trample your ass any way you like, through incompetence or otherwise.

  12. I just don’t see how sebastard deserved a “shut up” for a perfectly valid opinion. I think he’s a douche, too, but attacking him and calling him a big fag when he isn’t being a douche makes you look like twice the douche he is.

It’s just getting old, bud. Move on and quit the bullying schtick.
