What in the fuck is with this world?

I pull up to daycare with my son only to be met by a fat dude smoking standing behind his silver CRV, in the parking spot that is open. Oh well, asshole is proving us with a cloud while we get out and head to the door.

5 mins later I am returning to get in the car and go to work. Smokey butts his smoke out and THEN proceeds to take his child out of the car seat and bring him into the daycare. WTF. So making your son wait in the truck ALONE outside daycare while you have a butt is OK. I am speechless. Could you not wait until you dropped him off? I hope your spouse is reading this and kicks your ass big time. I am sure I will see you plenty in the near future and if I see that little boy waiting for Daddy to finish smoking, you are going to hear it. Big Time! Better yet, I am sure I will run into your spouse at daycare in the coming days.

Plus, piss off and smoke somewhere else that does not have our children walking through your shit-cloud.

Is it that hard to be a sensible father?

  1. now, I’m not going to get into the whole to-smoke-or-not-to-smole-somewhere debate again, BUT…leaving the kid int eh car while he has a smoke? BAD!. Particularly when they are mere steps from daycare, where the father could reasonably leave said offspring, then proceed to have his cigarrette in peace.Heck, he could even do it in the car all alone on his drive away from daycare- thus killing two birds with one stone!some people shouldn’t be allowed to spawn.

  2. Sorry guys, I don’t get it. It’s not like he ran into the grocery store for half an hour while the kid was trapped in a hot car with no windows open. He was standing right there.I think this is one of those examples of where uptight people are so busy judging everyone else for little petty things that they are missing the much bigger problems in the world.

  3. im with jammie on this. This is no different than the New York Times showing a pic of Britney’s kid holding a pack of cigs. In the 70’s and 80’s parents could send kids to the store to get smokes for them, sometimes with a note. This is so trivial that i cant believe that someone would suggest that this is bad parenting.

  4. ok, but it is a little selfish. why couldn’t he wait till Jr. was in the daycare? that kid had to sit there, with nothing to do, probably a little agitated as kids get when they literally SEE something fun (daycare) but can’t reach it. if a kid is young enough to be going to daycare, they’re probably to young to understand how to sit patiently and occupy themselves. not to mention the poor example he’s setting for his child.

  5. Agreed, a little selfish. And kinda tacky. But not a big deal that you’re gonna rat him out to his wife and kick his ass for…seriously.

  6. so…really…the op brought the complaint to the perfect place….as this board specalizes in a little tacky and selfish 😉

  7. Just to plat devil’s advocate….maybe kiddie had a sleepless night and was snoozin in the car? Maybe Dad wanted to give him a few more minutes rest before entering the daycare fray. I know, I know…there are A LOT of bad parents out there….but you can’t make assumptions from a couple of minutes glimpse into someone’s life.Having said that, I’m not sure that I would tolerate my husband leaving kiddie in the car.

  8. what the fuck? The kid was sitting there for all of 5 minutes.Do you take your kids out of the car everytime your put gas in your car? Let me guess, that takes 2 minutes, and the 3 minutes difference would be the reason for the anger

  9. I agree with Jammie. It’s not as if he left the child alone for a long period of time, and at least he had the sense to not smoke inside of the car with his kid. Give the guy a break..there are far worse parents out there, OP. I’m sure you’re not perfect either.

  10. I’m with the majority.Clearly the OP is one of those people who walks around determined to be offended and outraged. Any old human transaction will suffice.
