I would love to see some numbers on this guy to see how good or bad of a job he is actually doing. I know it certainly seems that things are getting a whole lot worse on the violent crime side of things, and I have to wonder if there is not more the halifax police could be doing,There are always bitches on here about how the police fail to intervene in fights downtown and around Pizza corner, and are dismissive about such incidents by saying things like “what do you want us to do about it”I appreciate that these stories are anecdotal and hearing about them on the Coast bitch section only further skews the results towards crappy policing, However, even if there are only a handful of these incidents of lax policing, I would think the Chief of Police would want to straighten out the officers involved.

My only beef with police these days is their hurry to pull a taser. It’s like they’re a bunch of ninnies running around with badges and no brawn. Tasering a 16 yr old protester… many cops, one 16 yr old kid losing his mind and somebody thought it prudent to use this scary technology on him instead of getting a grass stain… how ‘good’ can a cop be if he can’t wrestle a kid to the ground and put the cuffs on? What’s the point in having cuffs? I’m petrified. They may as well reduce the physical requirements for being a cop to “must like donuts and coffee” because anybody can point and pull the trigger of a taser gun. Four of them did it to a man armed with a fucking lunch tray! See where I’m going here? If you’re still not sure go check out that “guy” in the latest Special K commercial and imagine him in a police uniform. Give him a taser and I’m sure he could do the job just as well.
