Just last week I was driving down a street in the HRM slow enough to notice a group of young students, all with worried looks on their faces. I pulled up behind a taxi driver that seemed to be waiting for a fare, but he got out, opened his door and made no effort to let me pass. He kindly gestured a “one minute” type signal and pointed to the little lump in the road. There was a mouse, eating in the middle of the road. I thought it so wonderful that five or so people were so worried about the little guy in the street.

Thank you Taxi driver, thank you students.

My otherwise bleak week of watching rude people, listening to rude people, and reading about (and from) rude people had started to dampen my thoughts… that there were actually no good people in Halifax.

Thank you for showing me there is still some kindness and caring in this city that is becoming so angry so quickly.

I have been gone from Halifax for the winter, and most winters for that matter. However, as I come and go I notice how angry everyone is getting. Very refreshing and uplifting to see.

As well to the person who posted that there should be more positive bitches.

You were so right.

Happy in Halifax
