There is so many bitches about people in public with children because the majority of coast readers, it seems, are those without children, so they have very little toleration. Judging from the comments, though, they have many suggestions on how to be the perfect parent. I read this section very seldom now because of all the negativity toward children. If you are 1) happy, 2) in a stable relationship, 3) have a good job, 4) have children 5) make decent money, and 6) drive a decent car, then you are the topic of most bitches. The demographic catered to by the Coast just does not value or have those things (in general), so it is bound to show up. I don’t think that the bitches given here are representative of the HRM. There would be no bitch section at all if everyone worked crappy jobs in the customer service sector, drove an old beater, had difficulty buying groceries and gas, and had to live in an apartment over some perpetual party. The same people bitching about children and crappy jobs now are the ones with children and good jobs in a few years.
I don’t think so, Jim. I’ve been checking in here for quite a while, and have gotten to know some of the regulars…you’d be surprised how many have children. I am all of 1)-6) and I don’t fall into the topic of most bitches (just some). People come here to bitch about EVERYTHING.
Just so you know Jim, not everyone who posts here fits your criteria. I happen to be happy – I have a wonderful husband and great friends. I’m also successful. I’m a professional – I work hard, but I’m also rewarded nicely for that hard work. My husband and I own our own home, and we both drive newer vehicles. We don’t have children yet, but we plan to when the time is right.I would never dream of telling someone “how to be the perfect parent”. That’s just not who I am. I am, however, someone who has been blessed with a decent amount of common sense. Common sense that tells me there are certain times, albeit not often, that children should be left home with a family member or babysitter.
I haven’t really read much threads about such things, maybe just don’t notice them because they’re just childish non-sense. I love children in public, but also love it more when i see parents controlling their children. I’m not a big fan of a child running around tables in a restaurant, smashing into a waiter, dumping the plates, kid falling and getting hurt, and the parent gets up and lectures the waiter for not watching where they’re going. I would certainly kick the parents and their kids out!
first off i gotta say 2 of my bitches to be posted wow!Also i dont have children but i do find alot of the bitches on here are about children being in public yes parents should not let there kids run around like monkeys and scream and scream but sometimes you get run down and it happends like everything else.And Jim i do agree on some level that alot of the bitches are about that but on the other hand they are usualy bitches about metro transit themself and the exsperences people have on the bus
I agree the issue is not so much about children in public, but about children in public with really laissez faire parents who don’t appropriately leash and gag them.
