Heres a newsflash for everyone out there:

Gas and oil will never be cheap again.

Canada isn’t keeping peace, we are at war in Afghanistan, and will remain so until the Neo-Cons control all the oil in that area of the world (which includes Iran and Syria). I wonder how long Hugo Chavez will be alive for that matter.

There is no law on the books that states you have to pay income tax, yet we are all slaves to the national debt. We spend 4 months of the year in legal slavery, and the other 8 wondering why our necks are so sore.

The talking heads will tell you that all of the generic pop music you hear on tv is good, but you know it isn’t, its musical de-evolution, and why? Because few things can inspire like music.

The purpose of the media is not to inform, but to confuse and deter the people. Fill us with confusion and dread, show us our enemy so we don’t realize we are our own worst enemy.

Elections are pointless, if you look high enough up the foodchain, they are all funded by the same people and lobbyists. They have convinced us we are powerless, and we have agreed. We now have the choice of picking candidates that don’t have opinions on anything.

There is a very solid possibility that Jesus never existed, and if he did, he wasn’t the son of “God” but a man who taught forgiveness and communication.

We will soon be part of the North American union, which will be the biggest political event of the last 200 years, yet the major media outlets have barely mentioned it. Maybe when we are spending our Amero’s at Walmart we will stand up and notice.

There are no terrorists.

Rap music and the illiteracy that goes along with it is a form of newspeak. The dumbing down of the youth, and turning them against one another.

Yet everyone who thinks you have it hard : You still have it better then any generation before us, and we can set things right again through communication and ideas. Anyone agree?

Hoon

  1. I agree whole heartedly (especially the music points). But I do think the definition of the word terrorist has been bastardized in recent years.

  2. Most of his opinions are based on his meandering experience… But trust him on the sunscreen.

  3. LMAO @ Adam – EXACTLY what I was thinking.Way to put together a bunch of obvious yet still somehow condescending, but altogether unrelated and meaningless, opinionoids, there Homester.I knew it was too good to last.

  4. Newsflash: Hoon is probably another one of those 20-something university students who just finally came out of their perfect-world-high-school bubble and realized that reality is three dimensional. Keep rotating that cube of yours and you will find that there are conspiracies against your conspiracies and there is a reasonable balance between all the assholes and manupulators and the generous and humanitarian. So relax. Get informed. Stay balanced. The truth is always somewhere in the middle.

  5. I completely agree. Jesus did exist tho, but he was never the son of “God”, he was only a profit and a messenger.Jamesk, of course they have. Close your eyes and picture a terrorist, what do you see?Another thing i disagree with is that previous generations had it much better than we do now. They had more jobs, better pay and were able to afford to buy a house. You’re lucky if you can get a house and not have all you make go into it.Someone once said to me: “If voting changed anything, it would be illegal.”

  6. If all your conspiracy theories are true, what do you reccomend we do. Why don’t you become the leader of the world, I am certain that with your annoying wide lensed, thick framed glasses, messenger bag, decrepid bycicle and job selling organic cat ass coffee to live on your commune, you could come up with some great solutions to save the world. Damn Hippies annoy the heck out of me.

  7. Conspiracy theory? Where? What in Hoon’s little rant is a conspiracy theory?Gas and oil will never come down in price. Do some research on peak oil, which most countries hit in the 80’s.We are NOT keeping piece in Afghanistan. Do you think we’re fighting for their freedom? That’s why since we’ve invaded drug/war lords now run the country and it supplies more the 90% of the worlds illicit opium. Go freedom. The income tax comment can go either way, but it is not a conspiracy. Some believe it is quote unquote, unconstitutional to pay it.Generic pop music is crap, and does dumb out children down. Look at all the wanna be 50Cents out there now.Media does not inform. If it did, we’d see the true side of war, and our government wouldn’t censor out the images of the women and children we’re killing in Afghanistan.Elections are pointless. Lobbying is far more powerful. Any person who follows politics realizes this.Jesus could have never existed. That debate goes both ways, and any open minded person can see both sides.North American Union. All real, you can read all the government and corporate documents on it. Start with the documents on the SPP. It’s more than free trade.Terrorists…. Well, you are statistically more likely to get hit by a car than attacked by a terrorist. I declare a war on cars!!! This is a war about oil, not terrorism. We won’t bother going down the 9/11 road here, not worth it.”Main stream” Rap music and its lingo are newspeak. Completely. Read 1984. When you’re done look up Wells’ book “The New World Order – Whether it is attainable, how it can be attained, and what sort of world a world at peace will have to be”.I’m not sure how to save the world, but insulting others due to ignorance is not an option. PS – Everyone should look up Edward Bernays and read how he changed the world.PPS – The Coast should wake up too, and print more on real issues.

  8. Since I mentioned conspiracy theories (which may have been poor word choice) I will try and defend my comments. The things the poster wrote are not without truth, but they are comments that are one-sided for the most part and promote absolutes. Just because they run counter to what might be popular ideas and you might read them and say “hey, maybe Hoon’s right, I hadn’t thought of that” does not mean they are fully-informed or insightful. For example, the price of oil will come down if demand comes down. The price of oil could also change if Canada reworked it’s international agreements and nationalized it’s oil production. That’s why venezuelans pay less than 10cents a liter and OPEC countries pay about 20 c/L. That is just one option, of many, for dealing with rising oil prices. Choosing not to trade it on the American Dollar would affect the situation as well. An increase in refining capacity could also temporarily releive some of the high oil prices. These are pretty unlikely scenarios, but so is the idea of people not driving cars to reduce oil dependency. Peak oil and oil pricing are equations with many variables and therefore there are many ways to deal with oil prices. I will spare you a lengthier reply, but I could give perfectly valid alternate responses to each of Hoon’s one-sided comments. I chose the word conspiracy, because that is how a lot of these ideas are presented. “The media is a pawn of the government to pacify the masses and brainwash us into supporting the war on terror, which is really a war about oil (or is it baby killing?)”. The points made by the OP are worth considering, but they do nothing to provide a real-world view of things.

  9. Nietzche? Is that you?But seriously. Some of these are great points or seem to be coming from a good place, but frig, how do you even get up on a horse that tall? Stilts? Expandable ladder? If you’ve got the world all figured out, then go fix it. I would just looove to see what you’d do with it. Why not try finding some good points to focus on instead of these? You might find you’d have less to bitch about 😉

  10. It’s Homie. I’m sure of it. Nobody else is that smug, or arrogant enough to present his immaculate thoughts like it’s something we don’t know already.

  11. So when is the revolution going to start?Hopefully not when we’re being filed into Haliburton concentration camps :Pmore food for thought:Canada will never stop selling to the US. We are their #1 supplier of oil, #2 being Mexico. Our economy thrives off the US economy. We will never nationalize our oil. Chavez is being fought every step of the way by the international oil companies and the US. The ruling class of our country is in bed with that of the US.Oil is the cheapest form of energy. It’s all about energy. The world is coming upon an energy crisis the likes we’ve never seen. As the demand for oil sky rockets, there just is not enough to go around. The only thing keeping China’s economy from exploding is their lack of energy; hence their agreements with Iran for nuclear power in the future. They know oil is not going to be around to keep this planet a float.Enough rating though..I wish I knew how to fix the worlds problems. Maybe when the economic crash pinches us all a bit harder, we will figure it out.

  12. I’ve been taught the ‘second coming of Christ’ is not really the appearance of the Lord but the evidence of his work through us, “Christians” per se. I know not everybody is a Christian or even subscribes to religion, however, I think all of us individually are seeking the same things: food, shelter, safety, acceptance, etc. The key to our survival is communication. I say educate the masses… across the entire planet and discover a whole world of individuals in a position to strive for the peace, tolerance, acceptance and forgiveness we all need so badly. Change starts at home. Change starts with you…. the real you. Change is inevitable in light of education and accurate information. Educate the masses. And then watch this (2 hours… watch the whole thing and then decide) Almost all the OP’s points are addressed in this video:http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=-594683847743189197&q=Zeitgeist+&ei=wZU8SLvILZSe_AHRsMTVAw&hl=en

  13. Education is key, but Kay, did you not watch the entire first section of Zeitgeist? It basically points out the Jesus more than likely did not exist, nor was he the son of any god. His story shows up through out history in all cultures… the virgin birth, three kings, dies and is resurrected on the third day… Its a story that predates the story of Jesus.I think you must have skipped that part 😛

  14. Oil prices right now are a result of predetory and speculative investing. They don’t reflect the true value of oil, or the available supply. Oil should be selling at $65-$70/ barrell right now. There will be a crash in oil prices, followed by an inevitable frenzy, and when it all settles down, iprices will be normal again. Way to play right into the hands of the media, that you supposedly have all figured out, dingus.

  15. Sorry Qwerty, but I do not think oil prices will fall again. By keeping oil prices high, the ruling elite have a better chance at shaping and forming the world in the image they want. I’m not going to type it all out, but we’re aloud to disagree.. and well we do. And that’s ok with me 🙂 As for Homie, I do not know any Homie.

  16. qwerty, do you agree? “I know not everybody is a Christian or even subscribes to religion, however, I think all of us individually are seeking the same things: food, shelter, safety, acceptance, etc”Good for you for watching it. I watched an older version of it… it was still 2 hours long so I imagine most of the content was consistent with earlier releases of the film. I bet you think twice before stepping foot inside the evil walls of Walmart now, huh?

  17. Ask Wesley Snipes how that “there are no tax laws” theory worked for him….Maybe we’re to blame. If we tuned into PBS news enmass, Chris Mathews (&others) would be changing their formats to match. If we turned off TMZ, newoutlets would have to find something else to report. Jingle the keys, feed us Pablum and most people are happy.Maybe we should try to not be mindless sheep, and ask to take back individual responsibilities. Even if it means we’ll have to plan ahead, be responsible and not sue everyone who doesn’t protect us from everything.

  18. Wesley Snipes!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEGxoJWasZYI agree Kay that we are all wanting the same things, more or less. I want a farm that’s all paid for. That’s my want, a farm that I own. Pretty sweet wha? :)Some great docs if anyone wishes to watchThe Century of the Self – BBC 4 parter… great great great http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcfour/documentaries/features/century_of_the_self.shtmlandThe Power of Nightmares – BBC againhttp://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/3755686.stmboth by the same producer
