Why is it that Nova Scotia requires a special, motorcycle license to drive a small, low-powered scooter such as a vespa. With the price of gas being as freaking crazy as it is, I decided to be as practically reasonable (and I thoguht progressive) by deciding to park my car for the summer (no need to drive a four cylinder auto that seats five when I am the only occupant). Turns out that the only way to legally drive a 50CC scooter is to learn to drive a motorcycle.
Other provinces do not require a motorcycle license for a scooter – as they are not motorcycles, they don’t have near the power of motorcycles, they don’t handle like motorcycles and they are much cheaper to purchase than motorcycles.
Why must our governemtn slap us in the face and tell us that the rising cost of fuel is our problem yet people like me who want to be somewhat proactive and try to cut down on my gas comsmption get screwed in the end havign to take a 500 dollar motorcycle course just to drive a 50CC scooter that a kid could learn to drive in a heart beat.
What a crock of shit.
