I am fat. I’m fat because I ate too much and didn’t move enough for a long time. The reasons I made those bad choices are not important. I am making better choices now. So to the two skinny girls on the treadmills behind me: I could hear you giggling. I could hear your exclamations of disgust. So you think I should exercise at home, do you? You think I should be embarrassed to “show myself” at a gym? Well fuck you. I paid my 600 quid and I will waddle toward a healthier lifestyle in any fashion I choose. I couldn’t care less if you’re disgusted by the sight of my ass jiggling. Maybe next time I’ll wear spandex, just for you.

  1. Good for you for making better choices and getting on a road to better health. To hell with anyone else at the gym. Most of the “perfect bodies” in their workout/club/hooking gear don’t do shit at the gym anyway and are only there to flirt with airhead jocks. They may have healthy bodies, but their attitudes need some work.

  2. You are doing something positive about your weight and they are just a couple of narrow-minded, nasty cunts with nothing better to do than ridicule someone trying hard to improve their overall health. I applaud your efforts! As a former fatty I can’t even begin to explain how much better I feel with the excess weight off. But it took lots of time, sacrifice and frustration. Don’t let those two twigs derail you. Give them a loud: ‘You have a problem with my weight?’ and see if they don’t run like the cowardly vermin they are. If they don’t, report them to the gym’s manager.

  3. Miles welcome back!! TTFN I agree. I saw at a bar and grill some young lads seeing an overweight person come in with her family and then whipping the camera phone out to snap pictures . The family had to get up and move because of that. What is fucking wrong with society ?! That is a form of bullying. OP you go and you enjoy the gym honey. Don’t let those girls be mean to you. Bullying comes in all forms. Wait for another 30 years and see if those girls aren’t overweight. Sure they are at the gym now but add years to them and see. You OP will be looking good while they will look like shit!! Keep it up OP you are doing great honey!!

  4. I love this! A truly bitch-worthy piece, and a nice refreshing change from the ‘fat people rant’ we are used to seeing here. Good for you, FGATG. Use those nasty bitches as the fuel to keep you going on the right track to getting healthier, and keep your head up. 🙂

  5. I’m going to join the gym so I can get into better shape sometime today or tomorrow, and its stuff like this that makes me not want to. I HATE gym culture. Its like walking back into a high school.

  6. Fucking bitches… In a year you’ll look and feel amazing, and they’ll still hate their lives.

  7. Kristen, If bitchy skinny people are keeping you from the gym (which is understandable) try a place like curves or maybe the YMCA and stay away from university and pretentious gyms. Find a place where you are comfortable and keep going.

  8. Starting a new gym can be intimidating regardless of the shape you’re in – once you get into a groove of going, it quickly becomes just another part of your routine, and it’s easy to tune that shit out. Hang in there, it’s so worth it.

  9. That is exactly WHY I dont go to the gym! I have a $200 key chain just going to waste!!However, if I was in that situation, one of the best lines I have ever heard “I may be fat, but your ugly as hell, and I can go on a diet! What choice do you have?”You had more restraint then me, because they would have ended up with a black eye.. And I would have had people chasing me as a waddled away to safety.. Bannned from the gym, a wasted pass.. would have been all worth it….. I’m not promoting violence, but damn, those bitches deserved it….

  10. I am laud your owner-ship of responsibility and your strength of will! It is terrific that you have started on your new you! Don’t let shallow insignificant losers slow you down, they truly are not even worth the energy spent on worrying! There is obviously something wrong with them or their lives for them to treat you like that.Think of it this way…you are better on the inside and getting healthier on the outside too, whereas they may be healthy on the outside but probably will never embark on a life-changing effort to improve their obvious failings because they are weak and jealous of your strength.Keep it up, you are a star!

  11. The best solution is an MP3 player. I used to be a overweight, now I’m healthy and slim (although currently pregnant). I had the same problems at my University gym, I learned to turn up the music and tune out the assholes. The ironic thing was that I noticed that many of the regular “stick thin” girls would come in and sit on the recumbent bike set at level one for an hour and barley break a sweat…which is why they look so skinny and gross and not fit and muscular like they should (my theory was they came to check out men, not work out). Just wait until they get older and their metabolism slows and they start packing on the pounds…then who will be laughing? Just don’t stop going to the gym and pushing your limits…trust me, you will not regret it and it feels great!

  12. And so it has always been… not necessarily in the gym either, but just about everywhere. Smokers and fat people are the only two groups people feel it is acceptable to be nasty towards these days. I am convinced most people under the age of 30 who are at the gym are only there to hook up anyway.

  13. If there was such a thing as the Bitch of the Year in the Best of Halifax, I would vote for this bitch 800 times. Best bitch in ages.

  14. Truly excellent bitch. Also, it is very true that being skinny doesn’t necessarily make you attractive- inside OR out. I see tons of “skinny” girls who actually have quite gross bodies; cellulite, flat asses, weird fat deposits, poor posture, shapeless legs and arms. It takes way more gall to show up at the gym overweight than it does under weight, so good on ya, I wish you success.

  15. FTATG: I am skinny but would never be mean like that. And I hate gyms for the same reason. They are overrun by people who just pay to strut around in tight outfits looking for attention. The gym owners should really punish people like these two bitches. They might lose a few members, but they’d gain more from people who are wanting to make a change, but who don’t want to deal with the crap from assholes. It really is a form of bullying.

  16. Way to go. Awesome Bitch. Keep going and don’t let these tools bring you down. You can do it!

  17. Good job hun.. congratsMy lard ass is starting the gym thursaday(pay day for membership) and i hope.. i just hope i have some skinny twit comment about me

  18. I’m Fat Girl at the Gym. I’m not sure what I expected when I posted that bitch, but it wasn’t unconditional support! I guess I expected some degree of judgement for being fat in the first place. Believe it or not, I thought most people were like those girls. Now I know that’s not true. I got up this morning and read all these comments, and I walked into the gym with my head higher than I did the day before. So thank you.If I could make one request, the next time you see a fat person waddling around town, taking up too much space on the bus or whatever, please try to remember that person might possibly be just like me, trying to turn over a new leaf and get healthy.

  19. Holly you are in inspiration to people who are scared of the gym because of these twigs..Continue what you are doing!! If more people were at the gym who are there to get healthy (not twiggy) then more and more people will join without fear of these heartless people who have never had a weight issue.Keep your head held high and chin up.Being able to have the strengh to get healthy and change your life is better then those twig’s life anyway.. after all you will be the happy one and they will still be a twig at the gym, looking for attention with everyone staring at them thinking “who do you think you are?!” while they are giggling and acting like elementary school children.

  20. Thanks for that comment Holly. I was also surprised by the unconditional support you got here (and you deserve it all) given the comments about overweight people on othe threads. You have shown us why it’s useless to judge and condemn fat people on the street better than any comment made on any of those other fat-bashing threads. Thank you again, and good luck with the weight loss.

  21. If you ever get sick of the gym, a much cheaper alternative is to walk. I lost 50 pounds that way. It took over a year but the weight has stayed off and created a habit that I actually look forward to. With an mp3 player and some killer tunes, you can happily tune out the rest of the world and make them steps count. Investment in a pedometer can keep track of your daily accomplishments. Whatever way you choose, you’re on the right path.

  22. Holly I’m glad you came back to respond… Your message also gave me a lump in my throat!Keep doin what you’re doin girl… I’m glad you walked in the gym with your head held higher, it just makes me fucking SICK that you were left to feel like you couldnt in the first place…. Tall, short, skinny and fat, We all deseve the same amount of respect…. (except those two skinny lil bitches behind you, they deserved a fuckin slap)Qwerty, I loved your message about standing guard at the tredmill :)And Matt, it sucks it had to come at Hollys expense, but I’m glad it gave you some insight as to what obese people have to go through on a daily basis…

  23. Holly I just read your post. I was bullied in high school for being overweight. I slimmed down when I became an adult. I know how you must feel. I cried when I read your post. If you need someone with attitude to go with you to a gym let me know girlie cause I’d go with you. Keep up the good work. Don’t let those assholes deter you from what you want! To be healthy they are just jealous as you might get yourself a hot man!

  24. Holly, I am so proud of you. I too am a overweight individual who tries her best every single day to make healthy decisions and better her life. What is so difficult though is the constant judgement of others, not just at the Gym, but everywhere. I have been the victim of bullying in downtown Halifax while walking on the sidewalks, especially on summer nights. Here I am with all of my (skinny) friends, only to hear some person scream “You’re Fat!” or “Thats a HUGGGE Bitch” out of their car window. Maybe I am the only person that has experienced this, and I hope to god that no one ever suffers that humiliation, but sadly, I feel it is a reality for fat people, and one that I must deal with until I fit into “society’s standards”. Be kind to people, because in the end all we have is each other. Keep your head held high Holly!

  25. Congratulations! You paid money to a Gym, and you’re Fat! Wow, what are the odds??I don’t give a good crap if you decide to “get motivated”, just if you are going to use the gym like everyone else, learn to wipe off the seats and pads after you sweaty-stink-hogs use them. Nothing worse than having to have someone’s “Eau de smelly and sweaty” cologne on you due to some slobs laziness.Don’t blame me, blame dig-dug over there….

  26. Keep going to the gym ! Don’t give up because 2 skinny losers laugh at you. I’d for sure talk to the manager. People should be supportive of each other. If nothing happens that the manager can do, then ask for a partial refund and look into Curves.

  27. “Hi. My name is Dr Darkside, and I am a completely self absorbed asshole. I see every conversation as an opportunity to talk about things that are important to ME, regardless of what the discussion is actually about.”

  28. …and the reign of civility comes to an end. Dr. Dickhead, maybe read the post? Playing devil’s advocate is one thing, but you’re responding in an unnecessarily cruel way to something that wasn’t even said. She was in no way attempting to shift the blame – she took complete responsibility, and rightly so – all she did was point out that a couple of girls were being major douchebags and completely embarrassed themselves, just as you’re doing.PS I know how to spell, but I’m writing on a very tiny keyboard and sometimes some of the letters don’t show up when I press them and I don’t notice until after I press submit. The letter “t” is the worst. Sorry to go off topic again, but bad spelling is a pet peeve.

  29. WoW. You people need to lighten up. It is a bitch section.I made a comment on this particular Bitch. You people sit here all day; and most of you leave multiple comments; have little bitch-and-moan fests; spam the “Bitch” site with senceless bullshit, pick on that Ginger girl every other day; is there anything you don’t do? Do you have a life on the other side if the computer screen? It is a wonder……I don’t usually address anyone, but Miranda; I must admit, your comments made me pretty upset, I almost choked up, then I couldn’t stop laughing. I always worry about what some little tart says on a Coast comment board.

  30. Yes, Dr Dickhead. It is a bitchboard, the idea, as with all other forums, being to bitch ON TOPIC. People pick on Ginger (et al) because she brings it on herself with her constand irrelevant babbling. Your mean spirited, unprovoked, and OFF TOPIC attack on someone who clearly deserves support also falls under the heading of “bringing it on yourself”. If you wanted to bitch about gym ettiquette, there was a bitch on that very subject last week. The LTWWB regulars are like a pack of wolves circling this forum, waiting to attack at the first sign of stupidity. So the next time you think about saying something stupid, get ready for the inevitable flaming.

  31. Very well put, Miranda.Yes, Dr. Dickhead, as you so eloquently put it, this is a bitch board. Why then, would you post something counter to what every single other poster said, and expect NOT to be flamed? Are you that special, or that much of a hypocrite? Besides the fact that what you said had little to do with the original bitch in he first place. If you can’t be articulate, please, please be relevant.

  32. Look at you two, posting rules and shit…. Telling me when, where and how to post…. Flamed? As in Burned? Hardly. Trying to be the LTWWB moral police, then calling me “Dr Dickhead”? Then calling me a hypocrite???? HAHAHA….. pretty good “flame” there guys! “LTWWB regulars are like a pack of wolves circling this forum, waiting to attack at the first sign of stupidity. So the next time you think about saying something stupid, get ready for the inevitable flaming.” – are you kidding me? What a joke.

  33. Qwerty, Dr Dickhead seems to be unfamiliar with the concept of flaming. He must be new to this internet stuff. Ah well, he’ll get the idea after he gets flamed everywhere he goes for a while. Dr Dickhead, Qwerty and I didn’t make up the rules. You’ll find they’re the same on any internet forum you visit. If you’re going to be a tool, get used to getting called on it.

  34. As someone who is taking control of your own life and doing something about your weight problem, you have every right to tell those girls off. Ask them if they’d respect you any more if you “stayed home eating Cheetos” – that would get your point across as well as let them know that you are fully aware of what they are thinking. Don’t make it about your weight, make it about your control over your own life.

  35. Wow, your life lessons are amazing, Jam! Can you write a book so I can buy it and learn how to be just like you?

  36. qwerty, i was supporting this girl and saying “good for you”.the fact that you have a problem with that just because you don’t like some of my other posts shows what an angry, immature twat you are. go organize a march or something else productive like getting that chip surgically removed from your shoulder.:-D
