Why are fat people so obnoxious?? Is there something in the fried chicken that makes you HAVE to be so goddamn loud-mouthed and annoying? I realize that some of you come from generations of fat obnoxiousness, but enough already. The worst are fat families. Entire clans of them filling up the cart in the supermarket while thier kids run around getting fatter by the second. I just want to scream into the faces of the parents: STOP FEEDING YOUR CHILDREN THAT GARBAGE!!! Take what you spend weekly on junk food and get a family gym pass. Teach those little gluttons some self control and moderation. While you’re at it, give yuorself a lesson in ettiquite, your children will thank you for it someday.

Maybe unrelated, but last month I walked by a KFC and saw a fat man with fat kids take a bite of chicken, and then a DRINK of gravy. Yeah. Styrofoam cup to the lips and a big slug of hot, creamy fat to wash that deep fried splendor down. Eeeesh.
I think it all depends. I find that overweight people are, and I hate to use the term here, jollier. I am myself overweight, and I love who I am, and I feel no need to diet or over-exert myself at the gym. I go twice-ish a week, and that’s fine. I find curves incredibly sexy. An obese person, in my experience, is much more self-centered.The other day, I was enjoying that one beautiful day we had, and I saw this family, a father, a boy, and a girl. Both kids were under ten, and all three of them were overweight and scarfing down taco bell. I like takeout just as much as anyone, I’m not ragging on them for that, but when I was a kid, we had fast food on my parents birthdays. I must have grimaced or something, watching those two waddle along, because the father, also obese, shot me the nastiest look. I just don’t understand how parents can go on like that, completely oblivious to their children’s health. Then again, maybe it was a once in a blue moon treat and they have a genetic health issue, I really don’t know.
I wonder if maybe overweight people develop an attitude because they are constantly being made fun of by skinny people and it is really just a defence mechanism they develop. You see the same type of attitude in some youth and certain visible minority groups that feel ostracized or misunderstood.

Actually no, I don’t comment on ‘everything’ here, far from it in fact. I do comment regularly, however, but usually in spurts. Do you take offense to this, Mrs C?? You seem to be forgetting about all of the other regulars here, there are plenty, afterall. Some of them are rednecks, but most of them are NOT, which is why this site is fun. Once again however, my question was not directed to them; it was, as I stated above, to the rednecks!! Like most others, I am here for the entertainment of it, as I dont have access to Hotmail, Facebook, or most other internet sites at my place of employment, so my options are limited. I left 3 years ago but many of my friends still live there, as well as my entire extended family. Not that someone who’s never lived here has no right to post; this is an open forum! There is a distinct prejudice against larger people in Halifax. I’m a size 12/ 14, fit, vegetarian, non-smoking and curvy and I still have people give me looks or comment upon my size and I’m really not very large. If it can happen to me, then I shudder to think what someone would be subjected to who is larger than I am. I’m one of the smallest members of my family, as well. Many of them are well over 200 pounds and tend to eat fairly healthy diets. Yes, many people are fat due to poor diets. However, some people just tend to store more fat than other people. I’m amazed at the amount of food that many of my slender friends will eat when I am with them, over the course of a day; if I ate the same amount I would feel ill and probably be the same size as my other relatives. A lot of weight is genetic. The earlier comment about how maybe that larger family might have been only eating fast food once might be true, not that I endorse Taco Bell or any disgusting, chicken torturing place like KFC that is related to it. I tend to stay away from fast food, but once when I was getting Indian food at Scotia Square (a very rare thing to do), I noticed someone giving me a “look” as I passed my son a mango lassi. What is up with people’s attitudes, here, seriously?P.S. I’m not Mrs. C, in case there’s any confusion :-)Thanks.
